Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit
of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (NKJ)
The Greek word for gentleness means kindness.
The Holy Spirit has moved
into our bodies. He brings His gifts along with His presence. We are the
1 Cor
6:17-20 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. {We forever
become One with the Lord. One
Spirit.} Or do you not know that
your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from
God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore
glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. (NKJ)
Harshness or meanness is
not acceptable behavior when we belong to the Lord.
1Thes 2:7-8 But we were
gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children. So,
affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only
the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. (NKJ)
We are to be kind and
gentle to the brethren.
Rom
Eph 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, just as God in
Gentleness is not
arrogant or haute, but is gentle and patient with all people.
The test that your gentleness
is of God is this: is it pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, or
merciful?
James 3:17 But the wisdom
that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield,
full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. (NKJ)
Ps
We are to bring glory to
the Lord, for He has purchased us. If there is anything honorable in us, it is
from the Holy Spirit working in and through us.
