WHITTAKER WISDOM

WISDOM, WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

Rev. DL Whittaker, Washington

Mankind spends so much energy on gaining wisdom in so many areas of his/her life, and sometimes, I think it is wasted energy, because, after the wisdom is gained, there is no place to make use of it in their everyday life.

Our own personal "Wisdom" where does it come from?  How did we gain it?  Does it create friends?  A better life? or are we sometimes wishing we didn't know anything at all.  There is a lot of argument today over wisdom. Who is the smartest?  We all think, in fact, we are sure we have all the answers, but, do we?

If that is the case, why do we fall flat on our face so much why do our kids run away from home? Why can't we succeed on our job?  Why can't we just rely on God's wisdom and be satisfied. I think it is largely because to do that, we hurt our ego.  We didn't do it, or figure it out, so it must not be any good.

Proverbs 16:

The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the WISE answer of the tongue. All the ways of man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits, (the thoughts and intents of the heart) Roll your works upon the Lord (commit and trust them wholly to Him)  He will cause  your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and,  so shall your plans be established and succeed. The Lord has made everything (to accommodate itself and contribute) to its own end and His own purpose---even the wicked are fitted for their role, for the day of calamity and evil.

Everyone proud and arrogant in heart is disgusting, hateful, and exceedingly offensive to the Lord; be assured (I pledge it) they will not go unpunished. When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes, even his enemies to be at peace with him.

A man's mind plans his ways, but the Lord direct his steps and makes them sure. A just balance and scales are the Lords. all the weights of the bag are His work, established on His eternal principles.

Folks: Don't rely on your own wisdom.  We raise our children on our wisdom, and fail miserably. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from. Gods ways, God's wisdom will never bring failure. Your kids, in the end, will thank you.

We run our business  on our wisdom. Our wisdom makes us competitors with the wrong focus. Don't do like your neighboring businesses, ask God for His wisdom and guidance, and you will be in business long after those around you have gone.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

God Bless you.

Love, Dave
