Minister Francine Stuart,
Many
of us have a certain way of doing things as well as a certain time of doing
them - this is called a routine. We get accustomed to following our
routine and it becomes a way of life with us. Change becomes most
uncomfortable to us because it takes us to the unknown. For
example, we get accustomed to driving the same way to work every
day. We may fear to take another route because we may get lost, get
to work late and therefore get in trouble with our boss. Change
feels unnatural and we tend to stay away from it. We stick to our
old ways, no matter how destructive they are.
Most
of the time our old patterns keep us away from God’s will for our lives
and so we continue to live
in defeat. We cry and complain about our sad lot
in life yet we refuse to
do anything about it. The truth is that we are comfortable in our
mess. It feels safe because we know who and where we
are. If we remain in this state of mind we will never know what
victory feels like. By the way, are we happy with our choice in
staying this way?
God
offers us a new lifestyle filled with courage, strength, power, peace, love,
and everything we need to become successful in life. When we accept
Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we become new people our old sinful self
no longer exists. Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old
way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence 2 Corinthians
Yes,
there will be suffering but He will give us to power to overcome all
things. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly. John 10:10
In
order to change our routine and accept the wonderful things that God has in
store for us, we need to change our way of thinking. be careful how You
think, your life is shaped
by your thoughts.
Proverbs
4: 23 Lets allow God to transform us
into a victorious person by changing the way we think. Let’s be
aware that the way we think determines the way feel and the way we feel
establishes the way we act.
It
is very difficult to act differently than what our thoughts tell us to do. It
may work for a while but it won’t last. Only God, through His Holy
Spirit can help us to think in a positive fruitful way. It takes work
but eventually, our new routine will become a wonderful change for us and
lead us to everlasting joy.
