THE POWER OF COURAGE
Minister
Francine Stuart
What is courage?
Courage is being brave enough as not to look at a negative situation, while
admitting that you are not in control. It is knowing
that Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega: the only One who has the situation
under His subjection. Courage is standing on the Word of God when tragedy
strikes.
There was a preacher who traveled from city to city proclaiming the Word of
God. One day he was in a tragic car accident. He woke up in the
hospital and was told that he would never walk again. This man of God had to make a quick decision. He had the choice
to either give in to the doctor's diagnosis or hand his dilemma over to the
Great Healer.
He stayed strong as he would get into his wheelchair daily and continue to
spread the Good News. Oh there were times when people made comments about
his plan to keep on preaching. They would ask him, "Why do you
continue preaching from a wheelchair?" He would respond, "What wheelchair? He wasn't joking!
He was focusing on the hills where his very present help in the time of trouble
would appear. He was brave enough not to listen to people, no matter how
sympathetic they appeared to be. (People can help you to feel sorry for
yourself).
One day this man of God received a supernatural visit. Jesus appeared
before him and took him by his left hand saying, "Rise up and
walk." The Man of God obeyed the Lord's command and has been walking
ever since.
We are not promised a problem free life. We are told that according to
our faith our miracles will happen. It takes faith and courage to do that!
