WHAT’S THE POINT?!
I kept wondering, what’s the point of having a dream when
I worked so hard to bring it to pass and saw no results? Many people told me that I
am good at what I do yet no one made a move to help me open a door so that I
could walk towards my goal. I looked in
the mirror and asked myself, “What’s the point of keeping my dream alive. Looks like I’ll never make it?”
I felt that there are too many obstacles and I am aware that I can’t
surmount them by myself.
I attended church one Sunday morning in order to hear a
word from God. The speaker walked up to
the pulpit and suddenly said, “Be strong in the Lord!”
I hugged myself saying, “Thank You, Lord, this is what I
need. I believe that You are telling me
not to give up. Please tell me what this
really means.”
The minister continued, “What God is telling you is that
you need to trust Him. He will make you
strong in your weaknesses. He is the One
who will defend you but there are some things that you need to do.” She then directed me to Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord and the power of His might.” I understood this to mean that God’s plan is
to give me His strength in order to fight the defeating thoughts that keep
harassing me.
In order to strengthen me, God gave me His weapons to use
in my warfare against the powers of darkness. Ephesians 6:13 God is strong, and
he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you,
well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be
able to stand up to everything the devil throws your way. This is no afternoon
athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of
hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil
and all his angels. He reminded me
that my mind is satan’s battle-ground.
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Peter1: 13. Once satan puts a negative thought in my mind, it will enter my
heart and eventually I will want to quit believing in myself. I cannot be effective if I allow this type of
thinking to discourage me from moving on.
The belt of truth is the first thing I will put on in the
morning before I start my day. I
continue to dress up in my armor with the knowledge that I am safe because my
Daddy is watching over me. So, what do
you think?
With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God
didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition
and exposing Himself to the worst by sending His own Son, is there anything
else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with
God by messing with one of God's chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger?
The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us — is in the presence of
God at this very moment sticking up for us! Do you think anyone is going to be able to
drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not
trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying
threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture. (Romans 8:31-38).
