BEING REAL What comes into your
mind when you hear someone ask you if you are real? What does being real
mean? What does it take to be real? Being real is seeing yourself for who you
really are. Being real is being honest about the way you think and
believe. Being real is not being
afraid of being rejected because you won’t change in order to please people. When a person refuses to accept you for who
you are you need to be careful. The
reason for this person’s rejection is that he or she may have control
issues. The man or woman may give you
an ultimatum, meaning that if you change your ways, make sure that they are
God-given ways. People who try to
control you can be regarded as ‘personality stealers’. If you stand up for
truth which is being able to admit to your weaknesses, you will be
respected. No one believes a person
who claims to be perfect. Being real
is being strong and strength is power. Healing comes from honesty. Being real
is rewarding. Being real is knowing
that God loves you and He has wonderful plans for you. He has given you special gifts that cannot
be duplicated by anyone else. You may
be able to reach a person who is in trouble.
This person’s heart can only be touched by you There was a time when God saw you as His
lost child and so He sent His only beloved Son to die for you. His desire was to get you back into His
arms. Since He is a Gentleman and will
not force Himself on you, He wants you to make the decision to accept His
dear Son as your Savior. No one or
nothing else can assure your eternal salvation from a burning hell but Jesus. It is important to know and believe what God
says about you. Don’t let ungodly
people tell you who you are for if you do you will lose your identity. He wants you to know that. Keep in mind,
being REAL is truly rewarding: 1. You are a WINNER! According to Romans
8:37, you can overcome anything because Jesus lives within you. Exodus 14:14 - The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall
hold your peace 2. You are set FREE
from controlling people for God who loves you is your Daddy because you made
up your mind to obey Him
and His Word. Because we
[are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts,
prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but
God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
Galatians 4:6 3. You’ve paid the
price for your past mistakes and no one can hold it over your head. “If a man belongs to
Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun.” 2Corinthians 5:16-17 Being real in God is
to see your past mistakes, ask Him for forgiveness and accept His forgiveness. It is also moving on into the bright future
that He has prepared for you. You and
I need to acknowledge our weaknesses with the knowledge that we are strong
because His Holy Spirit lives within us.
It is being truthful no matter the cost. It is being loving
and forgiving to ourselves as well as others. Minister
