As
we are writing our thoughts on families this month, I thought to share this
painting..
One
day, while painting a nice picture of Jesus hugging a little girl, the Spirit
of God told me to turn the girl’s face away, and put a tear in Jesus eye. ...I obeyed… but didn’t know what was
coming next!
He
then told me to make an ugly wall, like in an old back alley, and write
graffiti on it, saying “DIVORCE”…. plus
some other sayings related to it. Dripping hearts were included on the
wall…………On the ground is a torn picture of the family, now apart…broken…lying
in the dust and ashes.
And
the child…what did this mean? as I looked at this
quickly done water color, I realized
THIS CHILD WAS ME .
Yes, I did cry when I saw I had
painted myself right into the arms of Jesus…by His direction of the paint
brush! What a great comfort! HE has been my FAMILY that was never broken. He promises NEVER to leave us,
NEVER to forsake us! His arms are
STILL there…Oh, HOW I LOVE HIM…He became my dad and mom, my brother too!
When
my husband, Gary, came in….I showed him the picture & asked him what
thoughts he had, not explaining anything …. AND HE ALSO was pierced in his
heart & cried (his folks also
got a divorce when he was young).
Please
think…your children will carry all kinds of hurts and scars, ALL THEIR LIVES, even
though Jesus hugs them.
I
am not condemning you…..nor do I condemn my folks…..
PLEASE BE CAREFUL!….
If you are a Christian, you are The BRIDE OF CHRIST…..and we sure
give Jesus a HARD time and we are NOT very good BRIDES. Thank you LORD, He doesn’t divorce us…. He
continues to love and change us, and DRAW US TO
HIMSELF (If we allow Him to).
Jer. 31:3 The Lord says: “I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn
you”
Heb. 13:5 & Deut 31:6
The Lord says:
“I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you”
And my mom did turn strongly back to
Jesus….and my dad…2 years ago, AT 94 YEARS,
accepted fully, Christ as His
Savior, and still loves Him to this day! We have wonderful talks
about Scriptures! AND…
He even HUGS ME!
AMAZING!
