PRAYER – THE BACKBONE OF THE BODY OF CHRIST
The Power of Prayer,
of a righteous man, (woman)…
JAMES 5:16 CONFESS
YOUR FAULTS ONE TO ANOTHER, AND PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER, THAT YE MAY BE HEALED.
THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH.
Not just legally
righteous, where we say, I am the righteousness of Christ Jesus, and go about
doing our own thing, but we have to practice righteousness daily.
Of course we are the righteousness
of Christ Jesus, but our righteousness needs to be just more than words.
I believe that we
also really need to confess our faults one to another prior to prayer for our
healing, and our other needs, (without making a big thing of our faults) so
there will be a free flowing of the Power for our healing, and receiving our
needs met. In these days, confessing our
faults one with the other. We need to be also careful of who we confess our
faults to, so when we do this, it will be to someone reliable. Confessing our
faults to one another helps to keep us humble.
1 PETER 5:6 HUMBLE
YOURSELVES THEREFORE UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD, THAT HE MAY
EXALT YOU IN DUE TIME:
PSALMS 10:12 ARISE, O
LORD; O GOD, LIFT UP THINE HAND: FORGET NOT THE HUMBLE.
One of the things
most of us fail to do when needing prayer, and that is confessing our faults,
and humbling ourselves before the mighty hand of Jesus, and not only to Jesus,
but with each another.
Treating each other
as the other person is better than ourselves.
PHILIPPIANS 2:3 LET
NOTHING BE DONE THROUGH STRIFE OR VAINGLORY; BUT IN LOWLINESS OF MIND LET EACH
ESTEEM OTHER BETTER THAN THEMSELVES.
There are many books
written about prayer, how to pray, why pray, etc.
It is said that the
person who kneels in prayer, can stand up to life.
Praying gives us
power, and strength to go through situations that are hard to go through.
Confessing our faults
one with another, really humbles us
2 CHRONICLES 7:14 IF
MY PEOPLE, WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY, AND
SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN,
AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.
Do we as Christians
have a wicked way in us? I think some
do, and most of us need some sort of cleansing done within us, some sort of
overcoming, and to my way of thinking, our life is a life of continual
overcoming, and I don't think that satan will give up on tempting us in one way
or another especially if we have a weakness.
MATTHEW 26:41 WATCH
AND PRAY, THAT YE ENTER NOT INTO TEMPTATION: THE SPIRIT INDEED IS WILLING, BUT
THE FLESH IS WEAK.
LUKE 18:1 AND HE
SPAKE A PARABLE UNTO THEM TO THIS END, THAT MEN OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY, AND NOT
TO FAINT;
MATTHEW 26:40 AND HE
COMETH UNTO THE DISCIPLES, AND FINDETH THEM ASLEEP, AND SAITH UNTO PETER, WHAT,
COULD YE NOT WATCH WITH ME ONE HOUR?
To Jesus one hour of
prayer seemed a short by what He said to Peter, could you not pray for one hour
JOHN 17:9 I PRAY FOR
THEM: I PRAY NOT FOR THE WORLD, BUT FOR THEM WHICH THOU HAST GIVEN ME; FOR THEY
ARE THINE.
Many pray for the
world, when I believe our prayers would be better spent praying for those
around us, family, and our Christian friends.
ROMANS 8:26 LIKEWISE
THE SPIRIT ALSO HELPETH OUR INFIRMITIES: FOR WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY
FOR AS WE OUGHT: BUT THE SPIRIT ITSELF MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US WITH
GROANINGS WHICH CANNOT BE UTTERED.
PROVERBS 15:29 THE
LORD IS FAR FROM THE WICKED: BUT HE HEARETH THE PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS.
Love and Blessings
