To have compassion is to give
Ivan Pattison, Australia
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out
devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Freely giving is not always
the easiest thing to do, especially if that other person is hard to please, or
does things that are not of our liking, especially if they are not of our
liking, as most of us like others to do things our way, a way we are
comfortable with. When someone does things our way, and pleases us, then we are
willing to please them with freely giving.
Many seem to have
that controlling spirit, and wanting things done their way all the time, at
least this is what I have experienced over the years.
It is Godly when we
freely give to those who we do not like, when we enjoy giving to whom so ever,
it is the Love of Jesus in us when we freely give, and when we are on the
lookout to give to someone who is in need.
Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour
as thyself. When we come to this place in loving each other, giving will be a
breeze, in other words when we have that special love for each other, it will
be so easy to freely give, even if we have very little to give. Giving should
be a pleasure, should be our second nature to give as this is what being a
Christian is all about.
Giving is made easy
when we follow the instructions of the following verses of Scripture
Ephesians 4:32 And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given
himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
Love and giving go
together, if we are not givers, how can we be men and women who truly worship a
God of love, a God
Who is a God Who gives generously.
Many marriages don’t go
the distance, because many go into marriage to get, when those who go into
marriage should be going into that special union with one thing on their mind
and that is to give, give and give again!!!
Psalms 145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to
anger, and of great mercy.
Shouldn’t we have
this same compassion?
With Love, Peace and
Blessings
