KINGS AND GOVERNMENTS

Ivan Pattison, Australia

1 Samuel 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

1 Samuel 8:18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

Read between 1 Samuel 8:6, and 8:18, and the people still wanted a King, God must wonder why!!!

In the Old Testament, where the Kings were un-Godly, the nation fell into the hands of other nations, but when the King was Righteous then God blessed the nation.

It is the same today; we need Righteous men and women in Leadership. It does not matter whether we like them or not, or whether they are agreeing with what we like, and it is up to each one of us to be praying for them, for them to make right decisions.

It is God who is the one who blesses us, and it is God that blesses a nation, not governments. I would like to see many Righteous men and women in Government as possible.

If we do a selfish vote, then there is a good chance the wrong leader will be voted into Government.

Each one of us, will need to ask ourselves, do we want a nation led by a man who is Godly, and one who asks

God for guidance or do we want a nation that is led by an un-Godly man, only you and I as individuals can answer this.

Do you and I talk to God the Father through Jesus Christ, and do we, that is you and I, stop and listen to God the Father, and what He has to say to us. Let us take time to listen to what God has to say to us. There are many who pray but do not listen to God and what He has to say to us.

Quite often we have our mind made up in who we are going to VOTE for so we do not ask God what He wants!!! And who He wants in leadership of our individual country.

I am not a political party follower, but I vote for the one who is a Christian, and if there is no Christian leader then I look for the party that has the most Christians, or the one who has Christian principals.

If you feel like you're under pressure these days, you're not alone. Satan is putting more pressure on more people right now than ever before. He is pressuring us mentally, financially, emotionally and every other way he can. The pressure has become so great, everywhere governments don't know what to do, and how to manage their finances properly. Many businesses don't know what to do, many families don't know, and many Churches don't know.

But, praise God, Jesus does! This makes it so important for us to pray, and stay close to God, and seek Him for all things in our life.

This comes down not only to who we vote for, but our individual walk with God, and how close, do we, each one, walk with God, that we also hear from Him!!!

The closer we are to God, the better we hear Him, the more distance we are from Him, it is the harder we are able to hear His voice.

The closer we are to God, the better we hear Him, the more distance we are from Him, it is the harder we are able to hear His voice.

To say the church should not be involved in Politics is hogwash, and a lie out of the pit of hell!! Satan has put this lie around so he can have influence in Governments. If anyone has the right to be a leader of a nation it should be men of God, who talk and listen to God and hear what He wants, and not what man wants.

So many in the church today do not know and hear the voice of God and yet God says;

John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

John 18:37b Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

If any one of us are not hearing the voice of God, then we should get closer to God so we can hear Him when He speaks.

I first heard the voice of God when I was 15 years of age.

The second verse of the Lord’s Prayer is;

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

If the will of God is to be done on earth then, we have to have His people in leadership of our individual countries. If sinful men are in power then there is not much hope of God’s will be done on this earth.

Our prosperous way of life comes down to us as individuals, and us understanding what the Word of God says, and then how we pray the Word of God. We as Christians lose too much to satan, by not knowing our rights as a Christian.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jeremiah 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

When we pray the Word of God then He will hasten to perform it

It is not up to a Government to make us prosperous, but it is God Who makes a nation prosperous, and it is God Who makes us as individuals prosperous.

God says in His Word; what we sow is what we receive from that sowing, and how true this is. If we vote wrongly or don’t vote at all then the wrong leader might get into Government, and if this happens, it won’t do us much good going to God and expecting Him to put things right. Though we might be repentant as a nation He can turn things around, but that usually takes time.

If we, that is you and me, sow tares and weeds let us not to expect corn or maise to grow.

(Galatians 6:7) "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

We can go to God if we put the wrong Government in office to pray for that Government, in fact we each one should be praying for our Government to make the right decisions, and that is important. This should happen whether we like the Government in Office or whether we like the one in power.

2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

We all have the power to vote and put the right man in Office. Let us not be sparingly with our voting, but generous, and vote for the one God has, to go into Office.

With the voting coming up, we who are Christians, each one of us will need to prayerfully and carefully consider who we vote for and not waste our vote.

Here in Australia, I have already voted, as I was not sure if I could make it, to the polls on Saturday the 9th October. I did not vote the way I planned but I believe that I was guided by the Holy Spirit. Our voting paper for the Senate was around one metre long.

There are a lot of things we do have to consider, and consider carefully in whom we are about to vote for both in Australia and the USA.

We are taught to sow seeds, such as to sow into the Kingdom of God, to sow so we can reap many benefits, as we all know in sowing a seed it will grow and bring forth many seeds.

We must sow our vote carefully so we will see our vote bringing forth good fruit!!!

In Mark 4, Jesus compares the entire
kingdom of God to a seed.
