Great Faith!!

Ivan Pattison, Australia

Do we have the great faith needed for these days?

I heard an Assemblies of God Pastor teach on "Great Faith" many years ago, and that is when we have this unfailing belief in God for the impossibility.

Having this Great Faith in God answering the impossibly for us, starts off as small as a mustard seed, and if we faint not, then it grows into a Great Faith.

Abraham is one who had great faith, where he came to a place in God, where he could believe that God can do anything but fail.

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Here Abraham took a step forward, not knowing where his future steps would take him, but he went forth in faith, whatever size of his faith might have been at that time.

Are you and I at that place where we are believing God for great things, and know God will answer our prayer, and are we at a place where we know that God will answer our prayers in a positive way.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

According to His will, when we are in God as we ought to be, then we will know what to ask of God the Father, and know, we will receive the answer to our desires. God will answer our prayers of our wants and needs as long as it is in agreement with His Word, which is the Holy Bible.

Men of the Holy Bible who had great faith were many, Abraham being the father of great faith, and Sarah being the Mother of Great Faith.

Many, both men and women since, has walked in great faith, in putting their trust in God, to see answers to their prayers, and seeing where God would take them, and what He wanted them to do, and what God had in store for them in this life.

James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

There is a law to having Great Faith, as there is a law to every thing that is of God.

Laws of God, and it takes faith to fulfil His laws, and to see them in action

James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Here are some very good Scriptures referring to Faith and Works.

Romans 3:27 Romans 9:32 Galatians 2:16 Galatians 3:2 Galatians 3:5 Hebrews 6:1 James 2:14 James 2:17 James 2:22 James 2:24 James 2:26 Revelation 2:13 Revelation 2:19

None of us receive from God, by just doing works, nor do we, get answers to our prayers just by having faith, in fact I do not believe that we have faith, unless the faith we have produces works.

To have this great faith, that many of our forefathers had, we must have works. Abraham showed his faith by his works, many of our evangelists, Godly faith healers, preachers and teachers, of the Word of God, showed their faith by their works. If they did not have action with their faith, how would they have passed onto us their faith, and how would we have learnt from them, if they hid their works.

We do not have to be great people, to have this great faith of God our Father, but having faith and works makes us into great people.

Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Whether we call it Great Faith, True Faith, or Faith, we must have it, to receive from God our Father.

The faith that God’s Word talks about, has nothing to do with what religious faith we belong to, but having faith in God, and in His spoken, and written Word, which is in the Holy Bible

Love and blessings,

Ivan
