Mercy with the blessings of Grace

Ivan Pattison, Australia

Lam 3:22 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Lam 3:23 [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.

The mercy of God our Father is second to none, His mercy is everlasting, is endless, is compassionate, and passionate. Always ready to forgive.

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Eze 33:11 Say unto them, [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

This is all we have to do is turn to God in whatever situation we are in, and He, in His mercy, will forgive and be there for us. Sometimes the flesh will have to pay a price, if we have sinned a sin unto death, like King David did, knowing God’s mercy is always there, and will always be there while ever there is life on this planet.

My dictionary says that mercy is;

Kind, forgiving, compassionate, leniency, clemency, and being mercifulness towards others, so is God the Father, He is all these things towards us, in His mercy.

Here King David is praying to God;

Psa 57:1 [[To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave.]] Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until [these] calamities be overpast.

King David chose God to deal with him, instead of man, when the Prophet Nathan came to King David. Here King David relalised that God was much more merciful than was man.

2Sa 12:1 And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.

2Sa 12:5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, [As] the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this [thing] shall surely die:

2Sa 12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou [art] the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

2Sa 12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

2Sa 12:15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

Psa 51:1 [[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.]] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Our God is very merciful. Let us look at other gods, what can they do to help someone, a dead person, who gets worshiped and never has risen again, what can he do for some one, when those who worship him, or what can a piece of wood or stone do, to be of a help, to those who need the help.

God is always showing His mercy to someone, but God does expect us to worship Him, in spirit and in truth.

Jhn 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Love, Ivan
