A Mother's Love and Faith Ivan Pattison, Australia The love that a dedicated Christian Mother shows
is so important, as it is said; the one who rocks the cradle, is the one who
rules the world, and this is so true. If this is true, and I believe it is, it means so many women
rocking the cradle, do not have Christian values, which is so sad. Women of faith today are very precious, as a woman can rise to
the highest, equal with a man, and even some even higher. There are many a woman who is faithful to Jesus, and spends her
time in prayer, and in the Word of God, and prayer and reading the Holy Bible
go together. I believe prayer without the Word of God is not good enough. Jeremiah 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen:
for I will hasten my word to perform it. What is more important than growing up with a Mother's Love???
There is not one thing more important than our Mother's
Love!!! WITHOUT LOVE I AM EMPTY!! "WITH LOVE I HAVE EVERYTHING!!" TO LET YOU KNOW ABOUT A MOTHER'S LOVE, TO LET YOU KNOW HOW SHE CARED, TO LET YOU KNOW I WAS WANTED, TO LET YOU KNOW HOW SPECIAL I WAS TO HER. Deuteronomy 5:16 Honour thy father
and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be
prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy
God giveth thee. It is so good to remember our Mother, with honour,
and the good things she has done for us. I was blessed in having one of the best, not only as a Mother,
but as a true Christian woman, and she lived her life as a good witness for
our Lord Jesus Christ, and she did suffer much and through it all stood firm
as a Christian. My Mother was wonderfully respected by all who knew her. I also experienced much Love from both my Christian
Grandmothers, in fact I was spoilt by them, and I did need all the Love that
came my way as a young person. Even today I appreciate when someone shows me
the true Christian love, it is well received by me. So many today go looking for Love, and usually look in the
wrong places for it, and there is not much Love there for them, and this is
so sad. One reason for me being what I am today, because of my Mother
showing me so much Love. Mother is a very special Lady that God has given to each one
of us. Each Mother is different, some have been able to show much love, then
there are other Mother’s who have not been able to show as much love as they
would like to show, but each one is very special. If there is any one among
us has a Mother that hasn’t been able to show Love, We, then by God’s
standard must love them, we must show them love and respect, as this brings
long life. Mothers even though not perfect, but at the same time can be
faithful, and righteous, we only have to look at eve, our first Mother, and
Sarah, the Mother of millions, the wife of Abraham, Abraham being the Father
of our faith. Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she
was the mother of all living. Eve was a very special Mother as she was the first Mother of
all living, and she was so perfect, when God first made her, but she sinned,
and that made her imperfect and brought hardship on all women. Genesis 17:16 And I will bless her (Sarah), and give thee
(Abraham) a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother
of nations; kings of people shall be of her. What an honour and what a privilege
that God gave to her, to be the Mother of many Nations, not only one but
many. Out of Sarah’s womb would come kings and princes, men and women of high
standing, important men and women. My Mother was special, and your Mother is or was special, each
Mother is special, even those with faults and failings. King David and Jesus, only two of many very important Kings,
who was in this line of heritage. What a blessing God has given to us from these two people of
faith, Abraham and Sarah, as they are our parents of faith, so if we are not
in the flesh heritage from them, we sure are of the faith heritage of them. A woman, as well as a man needs much wisdom in what we do and
how we do it, as it is something that has been missing a lot, out of the life
of many Christians. A Mother has such a large roll to
play in influencing the life of her children, as children she bares are so
important. My Mother was the most unselfish woman one could find, always
thinking of herself last. I wrote the following poem before she was promoted
to heaven. I also shared this poem with her so she knew how I felt about her. "MOTHER" THERE WAS NO PERSON LIKE MY MOTHER, A GENTLE WOMAN FULL OF CARE, ONE COULDN'T HELP TO LOVE HER, MANY A TRIAL SHE HAS HAD TO BARE, GALLANT AND STEADFAST, NOT SWERVING THIS WAY OR THAT, ALWAYS THINKING HERSELF LAST, AND DESERVING SO MUCH MORE. written 22-12-1983 I. PATTISON Many memories flood my mind on this coming Mother’s Day and it
is not as though she has just left me, no my Mother has been gone for some
years now, yes it is now just over thirteen years since she went to be with
our Lord and Saviour. My memories of my last Christmas with her, the number of times
I took her out to lunch, and the cooking she was good at doing, these
memories are so special to me. Any one who is contemplating
marriage should first of all spend much time in prayer about it and also know
what the Word of God says about marriage both in the Old Testament and the
New. It is such an important decision to make, as there is nothing
worse than a break up of a marriage, and even worse on the children, as I
think it is a long time for the children to get over it, if ever they do. When contemplating marriage one should ask themselves
will their partner be a good Mother or will he be a good Father. Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye
shall search for me with all your heart. It is so important that we love God so much that we want to
search for God with all of our heart, and our time, and if we do this, we
stay on the path that God has made for us. There is a saying about how we weave a web around us, many of
us put ourselves into situations that cause us so much pain and heartache,
when if only we had taken the time to go before God, and had sought His way,
and His will for our lives, how much better that would have been for us. If we do not know what God says in His Word, then how do we
know how to act, and what to do and what His will is for His people, that is
you and me. This coming Mother’s Day is the day we remember our Mother, whether
our Mother is with us or gone on before us. Did you know that the word Mother is mentioned 245 times in
the King James Version of the Bible I would prefer to tell you I love you a thousand times than to
say something to you even once that would make you feel unloved. Shalom
