EFFECTIVE PRAYER

Ivan Pattison, Australia

Heaven’s Eyes

A fervent prayer rose up to heaven,
A fragile soul was losing ground
Sorting through this earthly babble,
Heaven heard the sound.
It was a life of no distinction,
No successes, only tries.

Yet, gazing down on this unlovely one,
There was love in Heaven's Eyes.

The orphaned child, the wayward father,
The homeless traveler in the rain
When life goes by and no one bothers,
Heaven feels the pain.

Looking down, God sees each heartache,
Knows each sorrow, hears each cry,
And looking up, we'll see compassion's
Fire ablaze in Heaven's Eyes.

In Heaven's Eyes, there are no losers,
In Heaven's Eyes, no hopeless cause.
Only people like you, with feelings like me
And we're amazed at the grace we can find
In Heaven's Eyes.

I do not know who wrote this beautiful song.

Dear friends:

A Perspective on Praise, Dr. Bill Bright, Founder and Chairman, Campus Crusade for Christ International:

When C.S. Lewis became a Christian, he frankly admitted that he did not understand the importance of praise. Then, as Lewis studied, prayed and meditated on the Scripture, it dawned on him that "Praise is the means by which God reveals Himself to His people.”

That is a thought-provoking statement. I think of Psalm 22:3 in the King James Version, which says that God inhabits the praises of Israel, or His people. Praise brings His presence.

Dr. Bill Bright

Raising up an army of prayer warriors is God our Father, in this day and age, an age where we go to war, not against man so much, and of course this is happening also, but we as Christians against the powers and principalities of satan. Romans 8:38 Ephesians 3:10 Colossians 1:16 Colossians 2:15

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ryrienas Notes of Eph 6:12: Vs. 6:12: “The believer's enemies are the demonic hosts of Satan, always assembled for mortal combat.”

The topic in this article is not what I was keen to write about, but the Holy Spirit impressed on me to write this way. Whatever my views are, on what is happening in the world today, I am writing in the way God is leading me to do so, and I am using the Scripture, that God is directing me to use.

THE HARDNESS OF MAN GETS THE WORK DONE FOR GOD,

IT IS THE LOVE AND SOFTNESS OF GOD THAT SAVES SOULS.

I believe, even though God uses the hardness of man, that He would much prefer to use Love and compassion to get things done in this world.  We read all through the Bible of war; even King David - a man after God’s own heart. Not because David sinned was he after God’s own heart, that was not a part of God’s plan for King David, but because King David, repented and fulfilled the will of God in other things that was important to God. King David paid a high price for his sin, and King David came before God on a regular basis, he was one with God. King David put to death those who slew God’s anointed. King David honored those who God raised up, whether they worshiped God or not, and would not touch them, in any way (Example: the many times David could have killed King Saul and didn’t).

Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him (King Saul), he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.

King David went to war on other nations and shed more blood than God wanted him to do, so God did not let him build the Temple because he was a man of war!!! Solomon was a man of peace so the task was given to him to build the Temple .

It is God who raises up nations and raises up governments, He also brings nations to their knees. Are we going to wait until God brings us to our knees or will we kneel willingly.  It is our prayers that help God being able to do things, if we are a praying people for our leaders and for our country, so we can live in peace and be peaceable. We are commanded from God to pray for our leaders whether we are in agreement of them or not, our prayers help our leaders to make the right decisions.

1 Kings 5:3 Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
Bsb Notes of 1 Ki 5:3: (vv. 3-5) King David wanted to build the temple, but he was forbidden to do so by God because he had shed much blood (1 Chr. 28:3). Thus, the task of building the temple was passed on to Solomon, who was known as a man of peace

WARS  WON DUE TO PRAISE AND OBEDIENCE.

The one thing God wants me to emphasize is how some of the biggest wars in the Bible was won because of Praise and obedience.

The walls of Jericho came down because of obedience of the people of God, as they walked around Jericho seven times, and then seven priests would blow their seven trumpets of rams' horns. Please read Joshua chapter 5 and Joshua chapter 6, and no one was left alive, except Rahab and all that belonged to her.

Joshua
6:27  So the LORD was with Joshua; and His fame

was noised throughout all the country.

Joshua 6:25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Will we continue to be disobedient as a Church to God, and that He has to hand us over to the Moslems, I myself hope this will not come to pass. I do believe that we will be crying out in prayer in these last days for Jesus to come and take us out of this world. This came into my spirit some years ago.

2 Timothy 3:1 But realize this, that in the last days

difficult times will come.

2 Timothy
3:12 And indeed, all who desire to live godly

in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

We see this today difficult times and Christians being persecuted, and more and more we will see of this, as the final days draw near.

Judges 6:1 And the children of
Israel did *evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

(*did as they pleased)

Please read Judges 6:1-40 and 7:1-25.

Here we have Gideon, Judges 6:1-40 was chosen to bring God’s people out from under the hand of the Midians, where through a process of tests, three hundred chosen men, that God had him choose to go down and defeat the Midians, even though in the natural was an impossible task.

Judges 7:16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
Judges 7:21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
Judges 7:22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow,

Here we have the enemy so confused, that they turned their swords against each other, and the men of who went with Gideon, just stood there holding the lanterns, blowing their trumpets and smashing pitchers, while God defeated the Israelites enemy, what a way to fight a war.

Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

How much faith will Jesus find on earth when He comes?

The Birth of Samson: Judges 13:1-25)
The Death of Samson: Judges 16:23-31
Samson and Delilah: Judges 16:1-22

Samson’s mission was to "begin to deliver
Israel out of the hands of the Philistines.

Take a look at when God does things, and when man messes it up. He raised up Samson to bring God’s people into freedom. Samson, instead of doing the will of God, he followed after his own flesh, his own heart. Just look at what happened to Samson in his last days, he suffered so much, even though Samson came back to God through his suffering. If only Samson had set himself aside for God, he would not have suffered such a terrible death, Samson’s life was cut short because of his disobedience to God.

There is a death in this life and a second death, I believe though Samson chose death in this life by his disobedience, and I believe because he repented, he has life in eternity. Who would not repent under such conditions as Samson ended up in. May I ask would you have liked to spend your last years like Samson did???

1 Chronicles 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. Have you a feeble heart or a strong heart and a heart that God loves

Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee.

Shalom and blessings,

 Love Ivan
