The Joy of the Lord is our
Strength
Nehemiah 8:10b for
the joy of the LORD is our strength.
My joy is in the
strength of the name of JESUS, my Lord, and whenever I use the name of JESUS,
things turn around
1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore,
that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks, be made for all men;
1 Timothy 2:2 For kings, and for all that are
in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
honesty.
Joy comes much easier
when we are leading a quiet, and peaceful life, so praying for our Governments
and Leaders, whether that be for our country or for our church, it is certainly
important to pray for our leaders whatever roll they play in our life.
It is also important
to praise Jesus when things are not peaceful, and quiet, even though it is
difficult to do so. We are advised to be in praise whatever the situation we
are in, and when we sing praises whatever the situation is, those things must
turn out so much better, than if we did not praise.
Acts 16:25 And
at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners
heard them.
In verse 26 it tells
of the result of Paul and Silas praying and singing even though they were in an
adverse situation. Could you and I sing in such circumstances that they were in?
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks: for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Psalms 96:11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let
the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
So many verses of
Scripture about praise, and about rejoicing, in many cases it is the KEY to our
survival, and to our walk with Jesus in this life.
We have so many songs
of praise to sing, to brighten our day, and evenings, so lets get the words and
tunes into our spirit, and rejoice in singing as much as possible.
How we start our day
is so important, so if we start our day with singing what can go wrong as
singing puts us in a cheerful mood, and we do need to be in a cheerful mood,
and that will carry us through the day.
Zechariah 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
Zephaniah 3:14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout,
O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
Psalms 136:2 O give thanks unto the God of
gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Love and Blessings,
Ivan
