GOD’S THINKING BEING HIGHER THAN OURS.
Ivan Pattison, Australia
Isa 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Can we know or do we know, what God thinks, or the way He thinks. Certainly we can learn some of the ways He thinks, by what He has written in His Word, but I do not believe we can know all that God thinks.
It is hard to reach the pinnacle of what God thinks as His thinking is not polluted as our thinking is, His thinking is pure, perfect, and holy. His mind does not get cluttered like our mind does, so He can think and act in such a clear and perfect way, that He does not make mistakes. Our God’s thinking would be like we cannot imagine
The closer we draw near to Him the more perfect is our thinking, as in the Mind of Christ; 1Cr 2:16, and we should be working towards having the mind of Christ. How many of us really want to have the mind of Christ, and kill off our personal thoughts to take on that perfect Mind of Christ.
We can know a small amount of what God thinks, by what He has written in His Word, and this is why He wants us to put His Words in our heart, mind and mouth.
Deu 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
God tells us in His Word, that He wants us to talk His Words all of the time, teach His Words to our children when we are with them, whether that be at play, or walking with our children, and even when we are sitting down with them.
Deu 11:19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Why are we Christians in such a mess today. I believe we have done everything else but teach our children the spoken Word of God in a repetition way, and take in the Word of God ourselves as much as we should have.
God tells us to acknowledge Him in all of our ways, wow, what a dynamic person and family we would be, if only we started to get to know how, and why God thinks the way He does, and we can, by learning of Him in His Word the Holy Bible.
I heard this sad story recently, a small boy asked his Mother, what is that book on the table, and his Mother replied, son, that is God’s book, and the son said to his Mother, you had better give it back to God, as you don’t read it!
This is the only way we can get to know how God thinks, is by reading His Book, the one He has given to us, so we can learn of Him.
In Psalms God puts a Sword in our hand, to fight the enemy, in Psalms He comforts us with His Words, also in chapter one of Psalms; He tells us we are wise if we do not sit in the seat of the scorners.
So many today will miss out on Heaven, not knowing the mind of God and what He expects of us, for us to enter into Heaven, each one of us need to know the mind of God by reading what He says in His Word..
There is a saying, a dead fish flows with the stream, but it is the live fish that swims against the stream. It is a live person who picks up the Sword of God, and learns how to use it, and goes into battle with it. God expects us to know His Word, and then He will fight our battles for us.
2Ch 32:8 With him [is] an arm of flesh; but with us [is] the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
Pro 29:18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
Rom 15:6 That ye may with one mind [and] one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
God cannot look on sin, this shows how pure He is, and how much He wants us to follow in His way.
2Sa 22:31 [As for] God, his way [is] perfect; the word of the LORD [is] tried: he [is] a buckler to all them that trust in him.
May I ask how many of us are learning to know the Mind of God?
Love,
Ivan
