JUST
ANOTHER YEAR?
JJ Daniel, Washington
Will this year go by just like the past 20, 30, 40 or more
years that are now behind us? When we
come to Dec. 31, 2004 – and look back on the preceding 12-months - will we find
that we’ve made a difference in our little corner of the world? Or will we find
that we’ve used-up one more year, and left it empty of anything that will count
in eternity?
Each day offers us each just 24-hours; individually we
choose how to spend that time. I am
starting this year asking The Holy Spirit to be in charge of every moment of my
days, and to help me make the right choices. I want to spend each God-given day
glorifying my Father, and making a difference in the lives that He sends my
way. You?
Spending time in God’s Word and walking-out His will and
purpose for our life is always “Step-one” – and then what? Will we spend another year being consumed by
our own needs, our own desires? Will we spend the year serving only our self
and those we love? Or will we spend the 365 days of 2004 in obedience to God’s
Word… serving others!? Will our life reflect-Jesus Christ this year?
Just a thought!
Matthew 10:42: And whosoever shall give to drink
unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a
disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Matthew 25:43: I was a stranger, and ye took me
not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me
not.
John 15:16-17: Ye have not chosen me, but I have
chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father
in my name, he may give it you. THESE THINGS I COMMAND YE: THAT YE LOVE ONE
ANOTHER.
John 14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:23: Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Mark 16:15: And he said unto them, Go ye
into allthe world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Luke 10:2: Therefore said he unto them, The
harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the
Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
John 4:35:
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say
unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white
already to harvest.
Shalom!
