Wishes, Warts & Worms!
Hello, and Happy Holidays to each of you!! I have to laugh at this title… and hope
that it gets the attention of the readers who could benefit from this very
short article. *SMile *
Some people go all out for the Holidays…
decorations, lights, parties, special menus…. And of course the shopping and
wrapping and cards. What a shame that
all of this often leads to stress. Others try to lock them selves away from the
holiday.
This is the time of year to celebrate Jesus, and be
reminded of the amazing sacrifice He made for us. A time to rejoice! A time to be thankful! A time to reflect on the goodness of God;
and yet - how many of us dread the holidays?
How many of us talk our self into stress and
pressure… Waaaaaay before the
holiday arrives? Ever hear anyone say…
Ø I HATE THE HOLIDAYS!!
Ø I ALWAYS GET STRESSED THIS TIME OF YEAR!
Ø I WISH I
COULD RUN AWAY THIS TIME OF YEAR!
Ø I GET SO LONELY & DEPRESSED DURING THE HOLIDAYS!
Ø I GET SICK
AT THIS TIME EVERY YEAR.
Ø OH HOW I WISH THE HOLIDAYS WERE DIFFERENT!!
Pooooooor ME…….. guess I'll just go eat some
worms!! Ha!
Proverbs 18:19 says that “LIFE and DEATH are in the power of the tongue” And that we will “eat the fruit of it!
I am guilty of sabotaging my own holidays, with my
words; I have repented of that, and fully intend to turn it around!! Have you spoken death (stress, pressure,
loneliness, depression) about your holiday season?
What is this holiday season about, anyways? Is it
about who can buy the most or biggest… or is it about Jesus? This should be a Season of rejoicing!! If we allow stress and pressure to dominate
this Season, we certainly are not celebrating the birth of our Savior … His very Name is “PEACE.”
So….. If you’re in the same boat that I have found
myself in, during past holidays…. CHANGE IT! Get off that pile of warts that
you’ve created, and REJOICE!! Jesus is
enough! If we have nothing else in this
world, He is enough! Amen?? * SMile *
I promise you… if you take a few minutes to look
around you – you will see that you have a LOT to be thankful for!
God bless you and yours this holiday Season, and
flood your lives with His Peace, His Joy, and a fresh revelation of His love
for you.
Psalm
118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made;
i will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm
28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my
heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and
with my song will I praise him.
Psalm
9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee:
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
“REJOICE! AND AGAIN I SAY REJOICE!”
Shalom! SHINE ON!!
