Enjoy the Journey

Spring
is like a sweet smell in the changing wind of winter’s
cold. Returning birds singing new songs learned from their journey to southern
climes. And before the entire butterfly community comes forth into their own
colorful beauty, they will go through a season of dormancy. During the
life-cycle as a caterpillar, alone and quiet within a tight fitting room-like
cocoon, changes come in their life from the death of another part.
Of
late it seems I have turned a corner spiritually and perhaps naturally as well.
It seems like I am on a journey into the unknown on a path leading to what appears
to have a view of greater wisdom, clearer insight and deeper maturity.
Honestly
I am not at all comfortable on this course. A confidence to even walk this path
brings unrest to my soul. A sense of death tears within me as of losing, to
some extent, something no longer required. It is like something shifting deep
within to bring forth inner beauty out of ugly weakness followed by strength
not my own.
“I will hear what God the Lord will speak for He will speak peace to His
people and to His saints but let them not turn back to folly.” (Psalm 85:8)
Our
walk of grace from conversion to eternity’s home is like a journey on earth. It
is a process of learning God’s commands and promises and feeling comfortable in
the stretching process of growing spiritually, preparing us for the beauty of
heaven and kingdom living.
Like
the caterpillar -- a part of us has to die to make way for the beautiful wings
to fly in joyfulness. Our sinful temperament changes into the Christ-like
nature of holiness one step at a time along the pathway of life’s journey.
My
being comfortable or uncomfortable in the change is not the issue here. It is
the confidence of who I am in Christ. Like the cocoon, my season of dormancy
has come to an end and I have learned to trust Him in the silence. Learning to
be still in God’s silence so I will move only in His divine direction; this is
a new season for me. I am determined to finish my course on earth without
wavering or turning back to folly. I am learning to be more comfortable in who
God made me to be with purpose to accomplish His will through me. I am
beginning to realize that I am the only one who can live my life the way He
created me to live. No one else has within them what I have been given to do.
It is my destiny alone.
As
we grow older in the faith, and in years, we are to pass on to the next
generation our example of great faith in our Mighty God. Who will follow our
example? Be not afraid of the changes to go deeper into your relationship of
love with a God who never changes but will change you from weakness to
strength.
So
loosen up … Enjoy the Journey and learn the new songs of joy!!!
Father God ~
For everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.
This is our season to allow You to deal effectively
with issues in our life that need to change from our weakness to Your strength.
We pray You will give us the required wisdom, the
clarity of insight and depth of character that brings honor to Your name. Help
us to pour forth into the next generation by our example of Your
righteousness; Your name above all names. Change us to represent You well and to accomplish Your will. In the lovely name of
Jesus we pray … Amen ~
