A Journey of Choice
Called Mercy
An actual day on earth begins surrounded
in the darkness of night, stretching to catch the sun’s glow as it moves slowly
around our world. As the light inches ahead to dispel the darkness, one
wonders, does the darkness follow the light or does the light lead the darkness
in nature’s space? Nature is ruled by its Creator as Job
chapters 38 and 39 declares so remarkably. God Almighty gives created
man a freedom of choice through life’s earthly journey for his inheritance of
the eternal heavenly home. Father God, Creator of all life, rules and stands in
the place of authority in all truth. God’s truth is the basis of all rules, the
foundation of all law, the final judgment of all government and kingdoms in
heaven and on earth. As
Many people of the nations of our world
today do not truly realize where they have come from nor choose to understand
the written and spoken words of the Creator. They do not know, view or identify
with the principles of a Kingdom not of this world. Many have never heard of, nor given thought
to, the One true and living God.
Light and Truth come
from heaven. Notice
what the psalmist declares:
‘Send out Your light and Your truth, let
them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling.’ (Psalm 43:3) ‘Surely (or only) goodness,
mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through
the length of my days the house of the Lord and His presence shall be my
dwelling place.’ (Psalm 23:6) We,
as God’s created children, still have the will to choose our journey, so do we
follow the Light? Do we allow the Light to guide us through the dark shadows of
earth’s pathway? ‘He
leads me in the paths of righteousness, uprightness and right standing with Him
– not for my earning it, but for His name’s sake.’
(Psalm
23:3) Just as we are children
of parents who birthed us, we are ALL God’s creation whether or not we choose
to know and listen and accept His Truth (
The secret of our journey of choice is
finding that place of knowing whose Kingdom we are a part of, while living in a
world of man’s rule. We must take the
time to learn of
So let us enjoy our journey on this earth,
making decisions to serve with intensity the God and Creator of the universe.
His goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and help us
make right choices along the way, as we look ahead to eternity. ‘Let us therefore, receiving a
kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing
service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and
awe.’ (Hebrews
12:28)
