Trusting Trust

Jeanne Stewart, Oklahoma

Sitting quietly and alone one Sunday morning waiting for worship to start, I began watching people arrange themselves within the sanctuary where I was sitting at church.  As worship music played softly, I closed my eyes and began drawing my thoughts to my Lord, desiring His presence to surround us that morning.  Instead, my thoughts caressed those in countries where the chaos and hostility of aggressive, terrorizing war kept them in anguish—those who could not sit in such fine surroundings to worship or have the trust of His comforting presence.  Pondering such thoughts, I wondered whether the church of America was truly ready for such a depth of this kind of believing trust of sacrifice. I was desperate for something more that would cause me to see the urgency of our times. Desiring to be moved beyond myself, I quietly heard within my spirit...

My Child ~

A whirlwind is moving toward My church. You must have a greater trusting trust in Me for I Am within that wind. As I move, I gather up everything in My path. I Am casting away all as debris that is not of My Spirit. Where I have been, My path of destruction is wide but I Am moving in power to overcome sin. You must not move away from the flying debris, but become part of the whirlwind. As My winds of end-time move across all lands, picking up all that is not of Me; I spew off the indulgence (as debris) from My church.  Everything unrighteous will be removed from My Holy Presence. Accept where I have placed you within the wind, My trusting child, for what you are sensing within you is: spirit cannot stand with flesh!  Casting off in violence the halfhearted trust in religious activity, My Bride will be looking for Me and be clothed with My depth of trusting trust after the storm. ~

The wind of repentance is moving toward each one in God’s end-time church. Do you really trust God Almighty deeply enough to go through the violent wind of correction? Do you sense God moving you into new territory? Do you see preparation being made to harvest your promises from years of training and building yourself up spiritually? Before completion of what began years ago when your heart was opened to His Spirit of truth, that place in your heart must have His total ownership once and for all.  You must settle within your own heart to have His trusting trust in your life.  For trust to be perfected (mature), He calls us into much needed time with Him, “… and Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things but one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part which will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42).

As the days grow darker and more hard-pressed in our world, God’s true church will be persecuted, tested and tried.  We must allow the cleansing waters of the Spirit to wash and flow through us, the fire of God to purge and strengthen us, and the violent wind of His Spirit to shake us to change.  Preparing for this change, we develop bolder trust in the One who never changes or panics. Spending more quality time, the Holy Spirit changes our hearts and is in all control. Then we take responsibility for our own lives.  Re-adjusting priorities of our time, we find and fulfill God’s purpose. As Proverbs declares: “… trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Standing strong in the power of Christ Jesus, we bring the most honor and glory to God. The church that feels the violent wind of correction will stand as disciplined offspring of our heavenly Father.  And we know we are not illegitimate but true children, “... we may share in His holiness, furthermore, no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful, later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” (Hebrews 12:10-11).

It is the over-comer looking for Christ’s return who will be caught away in the twinkling of an eye.  What we set as priorities in our lives indicates the love we have for our Lord. We must allow God to walk with us in truth, learning obedience through momentary suffering.  Then, viewing everything with the eye of the spirit, we judge the difference between true guilt and shame.  Shame is like the flying debris we are trying to escape when God wants us to trust Him completely so as to rid ourselves of the root of that which would keep us from going deeper into His ways.  Shame will lead us to true repentance, forgiveness, redemption then peace by the Spirit, but disgrace is the enemy’s unloving, unworthy and irreparable way.  We must remember Father always forgives a “... broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17).” We choose to allow Him to correct us, and with the correction, to wound, then His healing comes, and we become stronger in trust and love. (Isaiah 30:26)  Allowing Him to build something new and strong and worthwhile from a destructive past, we will accept being picked up in the wind of HIS correction, to be cleansed with violent power, making us useful in these last days.

How often we stand in the awesome washing and consuming fire of God Almighty in church services. Many come and allow Him to wash or burn away wrong priorities in their lives.  “For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God...”  (1 Peter 4:17).  We have seen His river flowing, we have felt His fire burning, and we are shaken by His wind, as ‘Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind…”  (Psalm 77:18).

Let us listen carefully to what the Spirit is saying to the church.  Let us not compromise with the world and resemble only religious activity, but let us become those true servants of God who trust with a trusting trust, ‘and would hurry to our place of shelter far from the tempest and storm’ (Psalm 55:8).  Let us be shaken and cleansed by the wind of repentance in order to stand in these final days of HIS church.
