ASK THE QUESTIONS!

Pastor Larry Gatlin, So Oregon

Hey gang! I have a few thoughts for us to dwell on this month. Too often we have a tendency to think about our relationship with the Lord in almost abstract terms. He's in heaven and we are here on earth. He is God and we are just human. He is almighty and we are frail at best.

What would happen if we started asking God and ourselves some straightforward questions? Do think that God won't hear you or answer you? Because that is the reason that so many Christians fail to talk to Father.

It's easy. Star by asking Jesus this question. "Do you love me? Now just take a few minutes and give Him time to respond. I can already sense some of you saying, "Is  this guy nuts?" Go ahead ask Him and I am certain that He will answer. Expect the answer in the deep inner part of your Spirit. If you'll listen, You'll hear Him say, "Yes I do love you."

Now ask yourself, "Do I love Him as much as I have always thought. Or could I love Him more? Is He my source for Life and strength? Now ask yourself, "Do I have a vital living relationship with Him? I trust that your answer for every question that we have looked at is a great big YES!!!!!!!!

Now turn your thoughts to the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit and ask Him, Will you help me know Jesus in a deeper way than I have ever known Him before? Again, I can tell you for certain that the answer will be yes. One of the main works of the Holy Spirit is to make certain that we know and Love Jesus with every fiber of our being. He also desires to lead you into a deeper understanding of all that Jesus wants to be in your life.

And all we have to do is take the time to really ask the Lord some simple questions. Are you ready? Start today and ask the Lord all of these question and as many more as you can think of. He’ll always answer you. You just have to develop such an intimate relationship with Him that you'll know His voice. Jesus said, "My sheep know my voice." But we often get too busy with life to take the time to hear it. Slow down and hear His voice.

Let's close with two scriptures. Remember, take the time to listen fro and hear His voice. Ask the right questions, and you'll always get a great answer.

John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 16:13-14 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
