EPHESIANS 3:20
Evangelist Larry Gatlin, USA
Yesterday I was able to get out and
ride my motorcycle. (YEAH) What a beautiful work of art our Lord
created. As I was riding I noticed Mt. Ashland to the south of me, and
Mt. McLaughlin to the east. To the north was upper and lower Table Rock
and to the west were the coastal mountains. It was 80 degrees here in the
Rogue Valley. The birds were singing and it was great to realize that Jesus
is Alive!
My
heart has been rejoicing over a scripture that has often blessed me.
Recently I was challenged to read it every day for thirty days. I
am being blessed as this scripture takes on more significance in my life.
Let's look at it together. Let's take it a little at a time and
break it down.
Eph
3:14-21
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
---- Why, because He is building us as a Holy habitation. Wow, a place where He
can dwell and interact with us.
15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, ---- Just as
in the natural I have the same last name as my earthly father, Gatlin. So
in the Spiritual I have the same name as my heavenly father. The name
that He has given me, Child of God.
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be
strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, ---- What a
promise! I know that there are times that every one of us needs to
feel that inner strength. It is also His pleasure to give it to
us. Just as our earthly fathers enjoy giving good things to their kids,
so our Heavenly Father enjoys giving good things to His kids.
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, ---- We all are aware that it is by faith that we
are saved and that Christ dwells in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The
part here that caught my attention is that we are to be rooted, (Roots
are what bring nutrients and strength to a tree or plant) grounded,
(Being grounded is as Jesus taught, building our spiritual house upon the solid
rock. The rock of the truth of Gods word, both living and written.)
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and
length and depth and height--
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be
filled with all the fullness of God. ---- God does not desire to keep His love
or His truth a secret from His Kids. It is His greatest desire for us
know the fullness of His love and truth for our lives.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that works in us, ----
This
verse for years intrigued me. So one day I decided to study it. What I
discovered has blessed me forever and a day. It simply means that there
is nothing so great that you or I could ever dream up in our wildest
imaginations that if we had a true need for, God couldn't provide it. In
fact it really means that if it doesn't exist and we have a legitimate need for
it, God could speak it into existence. WOW!!!!
21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
Well you might think that this one is a no brainier. Rest assured
that there are many today who never take the time to really Love, show their
appreciation, their adoration, and their worship unto the Lord with pure hearts
and motives.
I am
closing for now and I encourage you to take the Ephesians 3:14-21 challenge and
read this portion of scripture every day for thirty days. Just see what a
difference it makes.
