HOW TO GET OVER IT!

Josh 3:1-4

Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.

A. THERE IS ALWAYS A SEASON OF WAITING BEFORE YOU GET OVER IT.

B. A TIME OF PREPARATION

C. A TIME OF GETTING WHERE GOD WANTS YOU TO BE.

After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

A. WHEN YOU SEE THE ARCH OF THE COVENANT.

B. GODS PRESENCE, MOVE OUT,

1. FROM YOUR COMFORT ZONE

2. YOUR SELF INDULGENCE

3. YOUR FEELINGS OF INFERIORITY

4. YOUR PREFERENCES

C. FOLLOW THE PRESENCE!

D. WE CAN GET HUNG UP ON PROGRAMS, DOCTRINES AND SCHEDULES.

E. AND FORGET THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO HAVE GODS PRESENCE.

Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it."

A. GODS PRESENCE WILL SHOW YOU THE WAY.

B. IN THE O.T. THE DIRECT PRESENCE OF GOD WOULD KILL YOU. SO THEY FOLLOWED AT A DISTANCE.

C. IN THE N.T. WE ARE TO FOLLOW CLOSE.

D. WE�LL DIE TOO. BUT IT WON�T BE A PHYSICAL

HOW TO GET OVER IT! (2)

DEATH, BUT A DEATH TO THE OLD MAN.

E. BUT YOU�LL NEVER CROSS OVER TO THE FULLNESS GOD HAS FOR YOU UNTIL YOU DIE TO THE FLESH.

Josh 3:5 Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."

A. SET YOURSELVES A PART

B. THE LORD WILL DO AMAZING THINGS FOR THOSE WHO GO AFTER HIM WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

Josh 3:6-8 Joshua said to the priests, "Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people." So they took it up and went ahead of them.

A. GOING FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD WILL CAUSE OTHERS TO FOLLOW.

7 And the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.

A. WHEN YOU GO FRO THE PRESENCE THE LORD WILL GIVE YOU FAVOR AND INFLUENCE WITH OTHERS TO GET THEM TO FOLLOW.

8 Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: 'When you reach the edge of the Jordan's waters, go and stand in the river.'"

A. STAND IN THE WATER OF GODS HOLY SPIRIT AND LET

HIM REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU.

B. TO GET OVER IT, YOU HAVE TO TAKE A STEP OF FAITH.

Josh 3:9-13 Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.

A. YOU MUST KNOW GODS WORD AND LISTEN TO HIS VOICE.

10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.

A. BY KNOWING HIS WORD AND HEQRING HIS VOICE YOU�LL KNOW THAT GOD WILL DEFEAT ALL YOUR ENEMIES.

B. NOT PEOPLE, BUT SPIRITS AND SITUATIONS THAT HOLD YOU DOWN.

C. THAT MAY INCLUDE SPIRITS USING PEOPLE, BUT THE SPIRITS ARE ALWAYS THE ENEMY, NOT PEOPLE.

11 See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.

A. WHEN YOU FOLLOW THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD HE WILL GO INTO THE LAND WITH YOU.

B. HE�LL ENABLE YOU TO GET OVER IT.

C. THE LORD OF EVERYTHING WILL TAKE YOU INTO THE PROMISED LAND, THE LAND OF VICTORY.
