PERMISSION!
Pastor Larry Gatlin, So. Oregon
If I could give the Lord a gift this year
what could it be? I've already given Him my heart. I've already made the
commitment to serve Him with everything I have. I belong to Him and He is Lord.
So what is left? What if I gave Him "Permission"! Permission to totally invade my life with His Presence, Power,
Purity, Love and Glory.
His presence would give
me the ability to walk closer to Him than I have ever walked before. To know
His direction and will for my life at all times. It would give me a new sense
of confidence that wherever I went He would go before me and make the way.
His Power would allow me the assurance that when I prayed He would
respond in all of His authority. He would take my frail life and turn it into a
dynamic witness of the power of God and all that it will do in a surrendered
Believers life.
His purity would let me
live with the confidence that Jesus in me is greater indeed than the pull of the world. It would make
me more aware of His Holiness and my need to walk in it. His purity would allow
me to minister with a greater degree of integrity than ever before. It
would cause me to walk humbly and more alert to His desire for purity in my
life. He would enable me to know Him at a much higher level than ever before.
His Glory would give me a
greater knowledge of exactly who He is and everything that He desires to
accomplish in my life and ministry. It would intensify His presence and Grace for my life. It would give me a new
confidence that when I ministered in behalf of the Kingdom He was going to
respond.
Sound to good to be true? It isn't. In fact PERMISSION
to invade my life is exactly what He desires that I give Him. So this
Christmas why don't join together and pray, Lord I give you PERMISSION to invade my life and
so radically change me that my life and the lives of those I come in contact
with will never be the same again.
The wise Men came and
brought Jesus gifts. They were expensive by mans
standards; they pale when compared to the gift that we can give Him. Let’s
give Him the gift of permission - to totally invade our lives.
Matt 1:18-23 NKJV Now
the birth of Jesus Christ
was as follows: After His mother Mary
was betrothed to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph
her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But
while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to
him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to
you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you
shall call His name JESUS,
for He will save His people from their sins. 22
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord
through the prophet, saying: 23 "Behold,
the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel,"
which is translated, "God with us."
Matt 2:11-12 NIV On
coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary,
and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented
him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.
