Pastor Larry Gatlin, So. Oregon

I
have intended to preach this message for the past three weeks. But the Holy
Spirit has interrupted my plans with His every time. I am writing to you on
July 14, 2010 from beautiful Albany Oregon. I am here attending the annual
Pastor’s Renewal Conference held at the Albany Vineyard. Denny Kline is the
senior Pastor here and is a wonderful friend and host for this conference.
Unless the Holy Spirit once again
interrupts my plans I will finally preach this message. I really feel that I am
to share the outline from this Word with you all this month and I trust that
the Lord will bless you. I have used some thoughts from Bill Johnson’s book, “Face
to Face with God”. Bill
has some awesome insight into the subject of receiving revelation from the
Lord. However I feel that his primary insight is, “We must spend time developing an
intimate relationship with Jesus”. I trust that you will receive this
outline and if you’d like, feel free to use it to bless some one else.

REVELATION
#1. BECOME CHILDLIKE: Matt 11:25-26 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and
revealed them to little children. 26 Yes,
Father, for this was your good pleasure.
SIMPLICITY AND
HUMILITY ARE ALWAYS KEY IN RECEIVING FROM THE LORD. Remember, childlike doesn’t
mean childish.
#2. DO WHAT YOU KNOW TO DO.
Col 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all
your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive
an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are
serving. NIV
LEARN TO RECOGNIZE AND DO THE WILL OF
GOD.
#3. SET YOUR FOCUS ON THE WORD OF GOD:
MEDITATE ON THE PROMISES OF GOD AND FOLLOW THEM.
Ps 77:6 I call to remembrance my song
in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search. NKJV
#4. WALK IN FAITH: FAITH IS TRUSTING
THE LORD WITH ALL YOU HAVE, ALL YOU ARE AND ALL YOU’LL EVER BE.
2 Cor 5:6-7 Therefore we are always
confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from
the Lord. 7 We live by faith, not by sight.NIV
Heb 11:1-3 Now faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by
it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were
framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of
things which are visible. NKJV
#5. DESIRE TO HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING
HEART:
Proverbs 14:6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, but
knowledge is easy to him who understands. NKJV
Prov 4:5-7 Get wisdom, get
understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake
wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom
is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
NIV
AN UNDERSTANDING HEART IS ABLE TO DOWN LOAD HEAVENLY INFORMATION
AND APLY IT PROPERLY.
#6. GIVE GOD YOUR
NIGHTS: GIVE GOD PERMISSION TO SPEAK TO YOU IN DREAMS AND VISSIONS. ALLOW HIM A
SET ASIDE TIME TO SPEAK TO YOU.
Song 5:2-a I slept but my heart was awake. NIV
Ps 42:8 By day the LORD directs his
love, at night his song is with me — a prayer to the God of my life. NIV
Ps 77:6 I remembered my songs in the
night. My heart mused and my spirit inquired: NIV
Ps 119:55-56 In the night I remember
your name, O LORD, and I will keep your law. This has been my practice:
I obey your precepts. NIV
#7. GIVE AWAY WHAT
YOU ALREADY HAVE:
RELEASE ALL THAT GOD HAS PLACED IN YOU
TO MINISTER TO OTHERS.
Gal 6:7-9 Be not deceived; God is not
mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth
to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit
shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well
doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. KJV
#8. ALWAYS REMAIN A FRIEND OF GODS”
John 15:12-17 My command is this: Love
each other as I have loved you. 13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I
command.
15 I no longer call you
servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I
have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have
made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose
you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the
Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other. NIV
A FRIEND BELIEVES IN AND WILL DO ANYTHING FOR HIS FRIEND.
Proverbs 18:24 A man of many
companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a
brother. NIV
CONCLUSION:
1.
REVELATION
IS WHEN GOD REVEALS HIS WILL AND PURPOSE FOR OUR LIVES.
2.
REVELATION
IS WHEN HE REVEALS A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HIS WORD TO US.
3.
REVELATION
IS WHEN WE HAVE AN INTIMATE CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD AND HE REVEALS DEEPER
TRUTH TO US.
4.
REVELATION
IS WHEN GOD ALLOWS US TO SEE HEAVENLY TRUTH FROM HEAVENS PERSPECTIVE RATHER
THAN FROM MANS.
