ROARING
Hey Friends it is that
time again for a new article. I am involved with a revival email list that I
enjoy very much. There are times when various threads come about and I just
feel compelled to respond. Recently one such thread circulated on the issue of
various manifestations especially “ROARING.”
While it is true that we
are to always seek the giver of Spiritual gifts, we must also realize that at
times He will release something that we don’t quit understand. It is at this
point that we call them, “wonders”. Because He sends them to cause us to
wonder, “Why would the Lord release such a manifestation of His Spirit, or any
other manifestation?
Well it’s because He
loves us and desires for us to never take Him for granted. So this is my
response to the thread. I hope it blesses you and opens a bit of understanding.
THREAD RESPONSE:
It is true that not every
roar is going to be a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. It may be of the flesh
or indeed it could be an imitation from the enemy.
However it is at this
point that I have to interject this thought and scripture; We
have been given the Gift of discernment for these exact happenings. This also
ties in with the thread on "BODY PARTS." 1Cor 12:1-11 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you
to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb
idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one
speaking by the Spirit of God calls
4 There are diversities
of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the
same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God
who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each
one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom
through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same
Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits,
to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of
tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to
each one individually as He wills NKJV
The Gifts of the Spirit
have been given for us to know the difference between the three areas of
Spirit, flesh, and the enemy. As well as to recognize those who are of like
minded Faith.
It has been my experience
over the years that there have even been times when folks have mistaken the
"GIFT of DISCERNMENT" for the gift of suspicion.
That is the exact reason
that when we engage in the flow of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit we
must also make certain that we are walking in the "FRUIT of the
SPIRIT." Without the "Fruit of the Spirit" we may well fall into
the trap of letting the flesh as well as the enemy.
I do believe that when we
walk in the Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit. We will never be deceived. Because the truth of Gods Word is far greater than our
flesh or the enemy.
Humility is always
required and will lead us directly to the Lords presence and truth.
