PEACE BE STILL! Pastor Larry Gatlin, S Oregon |
|
Hey Family of God, Last month I was so
busy that I had JJ reprint an article from a previous month. I’m nearly as busy
this month but I found a bit of breathing room today. There are many battles
that we are facing now days. It seems that so many people are under attack
from the enemy. But in the midst of it all, there is victory for those who
will call out in faith and receive all that Father has for them. The economy has been
a big issue for some time now. Many are becoming ill. In our little area here
in Southern Oregon we have had at least four people that I know of battling
with VIRTIGO. It affects your equal Librium and causes dizziness and often
vomiting and other side effects. The battle is raging all around us yet Jesus
is calling out, “Peace be still”. I know that it is extremely difficult to walk in peace when we
are in the middle of a battle field. But Jesus has promised His peace. It is
a God kind of peace that exceeds all of our human logic and brings us into a
place of rest and strength in our relationship with Christ. A place of peace
that will come only when we learn to put our whole trust in Jesus and His
provision for our lives, rather than our own talents or abilities. Often we allow the
little things in our lives to interrupt our peace and then they become big
issues. I’m not saying that the economy is a little thing. But couple it with
the little things of life and suddenly we let our peace slip away. Don’t
allow that to happen in your life. Here are some promises (from the New International Version of
the Bible), that will help you through these difficult times. Ps 29:11 The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his
people with peace. Peace is a promise from God. Keep it close to your heart. Isa 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace him
whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. God promises to keep us in peace when we allow our hearts to
rest in Him. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to
you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be
afraid. Peace is a promise from Jesus. Keep His promises near you
heart and walk in His peace. Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. His peace is a guard for our hearts when we trust in Him. Col 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members
of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. His peace will rule your heart even in tough times if you keep
your thoughts upon Him. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love.
But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The
one who fears is not made perfect in love. Remember we have His Love and it is His LOVE that casts out
All fear. Because fear has to do with torment and punishment, but His LOVE
has to do with MERCY AND PEACE. Pastor
