CELEBRATE!
4-5 Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in
him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side,
working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about
to arrive. He could show up any minute!
6-7 Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let
petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your
concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming
together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens
when
This month, seems for me
is a time of reflection of both my past and the lessons I have learned and
pondering my future and what my Father has in store for me. I know I will always have a lot to learn, as
there is always room for improvement!
One can get “busy” with the daily grind, what with kids, jobs, pets,
church, sleep, grocery shopping… is seems we need several more hours a day to
get everything in. But really, wouldn’t
it just get filled up with more “stuff”?
God gave us 24 hours and yet we seldom find the time to give Him an hour
of it. It’s amazing to me… and still He
hears our prayers and answers them.
November is dedicated to
the holiday of Thanksgiving… it’s a secular holiday, even if it does “remind”
us to give thanks for our blessings.
This issue is supposed to be about faith, and even though it doesn’t
appear that this article is about faith, it really is about faith. Without Thanksgiving in our hearts can we
really obtain faith? The Bible says that
Faith comes by hearing the word of God… and the word says to enter His gates
with Thanksgiving in our hearts and His courts with praise. Faith and Thanksgiving, like many things in
the Bible go hand in hand. We cannot
have one without the other. In Faith,
regardless of our circumstance, we go before God with Thanksgiving in our
hearts and he tells us not to fret because HE has us covered through
Eternal life,
provision, protection, guidance, love, grace. He asks us to have
faith in Him, His word, His son and to be thankful for
even the little things. When He sheds
His love on us, even the smallest of things come alive to us. A few weeks back I was at a retreat and when
I left the lodge to go to the conference center, it was very early. It was misty and foggy; it was chilly as the
sun had not broken through the fog. It
was crisp, like autumn can be… its my favorite time of
year really, the leaves were rustling and in those trees on the hill above us…
the birds were singing. There were two
or three different kinds… they were calling to each other and answering
back….it was glorious! At that moment I
just stopped. I was still, silent. And in that brief time, the Holy Spirit spoke
to me and told me those birds singing Gods praise… were put there to let me
know He was watching me. That He loved
me, they were there for my pleasure. The
song of the leaves, the rush of the wind… Even the mountains Praise Him! How could I not? How could I not be thankful? Later that morning in worship was a wonderful
and awesome way to start my day. It is
wondrous to revel in Him as the
scripture directs, its total freedom. Celebrate God all day, every day!
