"Bestest Friend"
As a kid, did you have an imaginary friend? The two of you shared everything; Secrets, dreams, even your
teddy bear. Your imaginary friend was always there, anytime you needed him.
Young or old, we all want
a best friend. A friend that will hold us
when we cry, laugh at our stupid jokes, encourage us when we are feeling down,
and love us no matter what.
Well, ya
know what? WE'VE GOT ONE! And He's NOT imaginary...He's REAL! And guess what? HE'S GOD! God, who can do anything! He's HUGE and yet He's small. Huge enough
to create our beautiful world, but small enough to comfort a lonely old woman
through a child's smile.
Now, HOW do we make Him our BEST Friend?
With a best friend, you spend a lot of time getting to know one another; talking,
sharing, laughing, dreaming. AND LISTENING, which is the MOST important in
getting to know one another! You ask favors of one another,
trust one another and, most of all, LOVE one another, no matter what! This is
exactly what God wants from us! He wants
to know US intimately, and for us to know HIM intimately! He WANTS to be our BEST FRIEND!
One day He SHOWED me how
to be His BEST FRIEND: I was listening
to Him and......THERE HE WAS......sitting right in front of me, clapping His
hands and smiling! Then He was
dancing......YES, DANCING! AND RIGHT OVER ME! Now, every time I worship I say, "
"The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
