God’s First Son

Nancy Bauer, Washington

Can you imagine God’s pride when His Son was born?

That’s My Boy!” He’d say when Mary wrapped Him in swaddling cloth. “We did it! You’re on Your way, My Son, to knowing My people-being ONE with them. You’ll teach them all that I have to teach them-open a new way for them to know Me! All of heaven rejoices in You, Son! NOW GO GET ‘EM!”

God watched, as far off kings followed a star to come worship His Offspring. He watched as the lowly shepherds came to worship His Boy. How happy God must have been. His first Son was born to change the world! And people knew He was special. Could they know that they would be next to be God’s sons and daughters?

God sent His Son, knowing He’d suffer more than any other human being.  Jesus had to carry our sins to His death and would have to separate from God, His Father in doing so.

And yet, God was elated! He knew that now we humans would have a true way to know Him…through this Miracle Baby Boy!

As we go through our celebration of Christmas this year, let’s remember how God, Our Father, felt when He saw His Son. Jesus was born as “Our Gate”, “Our Door”, and “Our Way” into eternal life. He was our “Way” to truly be with God and to know Him as OUR Father!

God KNEW that day, that not only did He have a new earthly Baby Boy, but this precious Little Baby paved the way for God to have MILLIONS of sons (and daughters). God’s family was about to expand from a little stable in Bethlehem, to the whole earth; AND GOD WAS ELATED!

Let’s celebrate this time with Him, knowing Jesus was the first son of God and we are the NEXT sons and daughters to be included in His family! Let’s “rejoice and be glad in HIM”….can you imagine the HUGE family gathering in celebration in heaven? NOW THAT WILL BE (and IS) WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT!
