Isaiah 30:18  And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.

THE WAITING

Nancy Bauer, Washington

   The first story:

I prayed diligently for a specific job for my daughter. I prayed, and prayed and prayed. Then waited and waited and waited.

She was given an interview and it came down to her and another applicant. I heard the Holy Spirit say, “She’s got the job!”  She didn’t get the job.

Two months later she received a call. She had the job if she wanted it. The applicant that had gotten that job had turned it down.

God answers prayer in HIS timing and in HIS mysterious ways.

   The second story:

I found a lump. My husband got me into the doctor the next day. He prayed over me and I prayed, too. I had peace from God the whole time, not knowing why this happened, but KNOWING that God had something in this concerning His plan for my life.

Previous to this, I had prayed for the gift of writing to “go where He wanted it to go” and to “do what He wanted it to do”. The passion in me to write stories and articles has exploded!

The nurse in the doctor’s office revealed that he loved to write, too. He told me how to submit my writings to contests on the internet. This was a new avenue for my writing; the passion for writing which God has given me.

This was the purpose I “had a lump” because the doctor found nothing!

   The point:

Waiting for answers…this is our learning time. We learn how to wait and have faith in His will for us. While we wait, He teaches us. And when He knows we’ll be able to handle the answer to our request, then he answers it. That’s just God’s will for us. A Father teaching His sons and daughters.

Proverbs 8:32  "Now, young people, listen to me. Do as I say, and you will be happy.

Proverbs 8:33  Listen to what you are taught. Be wise; do not neglect it.

Proverbs 8:34  Those who listen to me will be happy--- those who stay at my door every day, waiting at the entrance to my home.

Proverbs 8:35  Those who find me find life, and the LORD will be pleased with them.

I’m learning to wait, but I know I will never be done learning more about waiting. I’m a continuous work of the Father. But when I know I’m waiting to learn another miraculous thing from the Creator, it makes the waiting easier.

    Forever learning while waiting,
