BLESSING AND CURSING
Jam 3:1: My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the
greater condemnation.
Heb:13:17: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for
they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it
with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
(judgment
or reproof)
2: For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is
a perfect (mature) man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Gal:5:24: And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
affections and lusts.
Prov:15:23: A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due
season, how good is it!
3: Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn
about their whole body.
Ps:39:1: I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I
will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
4: Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of
fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever
the governor listeth.
Prov:3:6: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
5: Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how
great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Prov:16:27: An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a
burning fire.
6: And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our
members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of
nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
Prov:6:2: Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the
words of thy mouth.
7: For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the
sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
Ps:16:7: I will
bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the
night seasons.
8: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Rom 3:13-14: Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have
used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of
cursing and bitterness:
9: Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which
are made after the similitude of God.
Rom:12:14: Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
10: Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these
things ought not so to be.
Prov:18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it
shall eat the fruit thereof.
Mt:5:37: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is
more than these cometh of evil.
11: Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Rv:21:6: And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water
of life freely.
12: Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so
can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Jn:7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly
shall flow rivers of living water.
:39: (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should
receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet
glorified.)
Jn 4:10: Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and
who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him,
and he would have given thee living water.
13: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a
good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
1Cor:15:33: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Eph:4:29: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Col:3:8: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy,
filthy communication out of your mouth.
Mt:15:11: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which
cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
1Pt:2:22: Who
did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Words of your mouth.
Prov:4:23: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues
of life.
Ps:19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be
acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Eccl:5:2: Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to
utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth:
therefore let thy words be few.
Bless them curse you
Rom:12:14: Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Mt:5:44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you;
12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for
so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Bless with one mind.
1Pt:3:8-11: Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another,
love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise
blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a
blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his
tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Overcome curses with blessings
Rom:12:21: Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Rom 12:17: Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the
sight of all men.
Mt:12:36: But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Bless the lord
Rv:7:12: Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving,
and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Ps:34:1: I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be
in my mouth.
