A NEW IDENTITY:
Those in the FBI’s witness protection program receive a new
identity, including new name new location, new job, etc. Those included in this
program receive an entirely new life to remove them from danger by turning
states evidence.
As those in the witness protection program receive a new life, so also do those
that are in God’s program, rescued from our sin and death. God’s plan involves
relocation, a new name, a new life, in fact all things become new.
WE HAVE PROBLEMS:
Dysfunctional has become the click word of our day. We hear of
dysfunctional children, dysfunctional parents, dysfunctional marriages, and
dysfunctional families, on and on.
Professional people everywhere agree, we have a problem!
1. abnormal psychosocial function
2. impaired psychosocial function
3. impaired functioning
4. incomplete function
PSYCHOSOCIAL DYSFUNCTION:
5. Abnormal psychosocial function or dysfunctional conduct is a name
tag placed on those that have failed to live life in the normal acceptable
manner. Deviations from the normal or acceptable manner of life are identified as a dysfunctional lifestyles.
What “norm” do professionals use to determine what is normal? Generally incest,
dominance, physical abuse, and mental abuse are just a few norms that
professionals use to determine if one is dysfunctional or not.
The standards for determining if one is dysfunctional or not
is specific to the professional making the assessment. Each professional
person has his own set of standards that they operate with.
The Bible says:

THOSE THAT CHANGE THE BIBLICAL
MORALS OF RIGHT AND WRONG.
Ø Some liberal professionals do not think that incest is dysfunction.
Ø Some feel homosexuality is a normal and acceptable.
Ø Some believe same sex marriage is acceptable.
Ø Some validate obvious perversions, and promote them as a normal.
The moral standards for determining dysfunction and functional
character are not specifically outlined, but are determined by each
individual’s personal preference.
Professional people, who do not place a high-value on the Biblical moral
standards, do not use it to determine what is normal or
abnormal moral conduct.
Isa :5:20: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put
darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and
sweet for bitter!
I do not like what I read in Romans chapter 1 and 2, because it places me in
the same bag as those that do the most heinous of sins! Well in my judgment all
of the sinful deeds described in these chapters are gross, and I find them
revolting. The Bible condemns me for having this view and indeed says I am as
guilty as they!
Rom 2:1: Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man,
whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest
thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
James 2:10: For
whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty
of all.
EVERYONE IS DYSFUNCTIONAL:
The Bible assessment of the human character is one of absolute
depravity.
There are no humans living at the level of righteousness expected and
demanded by God’s standards.
The biblical opinion of the moral state and character of mankind is
deplorable and without any virtue.
Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God;
Romans 3:10: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11: There is none that understandeth, there is none
that seeketh after God.
12: They are all gone out of the way, they are together become
unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13: Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their
tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15: Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16: Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17: And the way of peace have they not known:
18: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
INHERITED INFECTION OF SIN AND DEATH:
We all have inherited the infection of sin from our ancestors,
Rom :5:12: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned:
THE TRUTH HURTS - AND IT HEALS:
Ø The declared outcome of mankind’s sin infested life results in
death and eternity in hell.
Ø Our mortality is the result of sin, which assures us of physical
and
spiritual death.
Ø The good news is that God has put in place a cure for our terminal
condition!
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through
THE CURE, THE NEW BIRTH:
What is God’s cure for mankind’s infection of sin and death?
John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say
unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the
4: Nicodemus saith unto him, How
can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his
mother's womb, and be born?
5:
6: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit.
7: Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again.
MADE ADAPTABLE TO THE SPIRITUAL REALM:
1. Man must be equipped to live in the realm of the Spirit.
Man was created to live and breath in the environment
of air, if man goes into the environment of the sea he will die because he is
not equipped for that environment.
2. Mankind is not equipped to live in the environment of the Spirit, he must receive a body adapted to that environment
to live there.
3. Due to our inability to live in the spiritual realm we must be born
again of the Spirit and receive a new body adapted to the spiritual realm. The
bible is clear on this subject
1Corinthians 15:50: Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood
cannot inherit the
1Corinthians 15:53: For this corruptible
must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
FIRST CONCEPTION THEN BIRTH:
First we must be born again (conceived) of the Spirit. The seed of the Spirit is planted in us, the dust of
the Earth. Unless a seed is placed into the ground and watered it will not grow
or reach it’s desired potential.
The word of God (
First we receive the seed of life, then at our death
we birth that life into the realm of the Spirit. We posses
2Corinthians 5:8: “to be absent from the body, and to be present
with the Lord”
Romans 8:11: But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell
in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal
bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

WE CAN BECOME THE CHILDREN OF GOD:
Û God has made provision for us to be born free from the infection
of sin.
Û God wants children born into His family.
Û God wants to be our Father.
We are currently linked to the natural realm and subject to natural
death. When we become born again of God’s Spirit, we are not linked to death
but to eternal life.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.
2Corinthians 6:18: And will be a Father
unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith
the Lord Almighty.
BELIEVE IN WHAT GOD HAS PLANTED IN YOU:
1John :5:1: “Whosoever
believeth that
THE PHYSICAL MAN AGES BUT THE NEW MAN IN US IS EVER GROWING INTO THE IMAGE OF
2Corinthians 4:16: For
which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man
is renewed day by day.
Colossians 3:10: And have put on the new man, which is
renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
WE SHALL BE LIKE
1John 3:2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet
appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be
like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass,
darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even
as also I am known.
HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN:
Romans 10:8: For salvation that comes from
trusting Christ--which is what we preach--is already within easy reach of each
of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths.
9 For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ
is your
Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the
dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in his heart that a man
becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith,
confirming his salvation.
