CREATING A NEW IMAGE

Gen 1:27: “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”

Can we honestly say that humanity looks like God today?
Does the image of mankind line up with the image of God?

Jn:8:44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

When mankind sinned in the garden of Eden, he was changed into the image of  the Devil. Mankind took on the nature of the devil. Sin is the nature of the devil.

2Cor:4:4: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,

should shine unto them.

The devil is the god of this world. The devil blinds us from the true nature of God.  Jesus came to reveal the nature of God to us.

1Jn:3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,

that he might destroy the works of the devil.

When we sin, we manifest the nature of the devil. Jesus came to make the nature of God clear for all to see.

Jn 14:9: “
Jesus saith” “he that hath seen me hath seen the Father”

Jesus was the perfect picture of the person of God the Father.
Jesus modeled for us the nature of the Father.

1Cor 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear
the image of the heavenly.

God’s plan is for us to bear His image on earth as we did before the fall into sin.

2Cor:3:18: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

As we behold Jesus portrait through the scriptures, we get a clear picture of what is like to be created in the image of God.

Eph:4:24: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

As we begin our Christian life and walk, we begin to assimilate the nature of God in our daily lives. We are to be changed into the image of God, as portrayed by
Jesus.

Rom:8:29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

We are predestinated to be conformed to the image that
Jesus modeled.

Rom:12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We are to be no longer molded by the world, but transformed by the indwelling Spirit of God.

Rom:8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

When we follow the leading of the Spirit, we are no longer sons of the devil, but sons of the living God!

1Jn:4:8: “God is love”
1Jn:
4:16: “God is love”

God is love, therefore His nature is love.

1Jn:4:7: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

How can we know we are operating in the nature of God?
If we manifest love we are manifesting the image and nature of God.

Col:3:12: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a
quarrel against any: even as
Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14: And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

We are to cloth ourselves with the nature of God.

1st Cor13:4: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5: Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6: Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8: Charity(love) never faileth:

1. suffereth long
Jms:5:8: Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

2. is kind
Lk:6:35: But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

3. envieth not
Gal:5:26: Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

4. vaunteth not itself
Rom:12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

5. is not puffed up
Eph:4:17: This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

6. Doth not behave itself unseemly
1Cor:
14:33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

7. seeketh not her own
1Cor:10:24: Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

8. is not easily provoked
Eph:4:31: Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

9. thinketh no evil
Phil:4:8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things
are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there
be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

10. Rejoiceth not in iniquity
1Pt:3:11: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue
it.

11. rejoiceth in the truth
Jn:8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

12. Beareth all things
Jms:1:12: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, He shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13. believeth all things
Mt:
19:26: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

14. hopeth all things
Rom:4:18: Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

15. endureth all things
2Tm:2:3: Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

16. Charity never faileth
1Cor:13:13: And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Col:3:10: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

2Cor:
5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Eph:2:15: Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one
new man, so making peace;

Eph:4:24: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.

Rom:
8:29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

2Cor:3:18: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of
the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by
the Spirit of the Lord.

Col:1:15: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every
creature:
