ALL THINGS PERTAINING TO LIFE

If all things necessary for life are provided for us, why do we suffer lacking? It is clear that we as Christians are not to suffer any need or lack in this life.

2Peter 1:1-3 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

“ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN UNTO LIFE”

2Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

By these promises given to us, we are to be partakers of the Divine nature and we are equipped to deal with failure brought on by lusts. By His divine nature, Jesus healed the sic, performed miracles, walked on water, raised the dead, and ultimately defeated death! We have the God given power to resist and overcome all lusts of the flesh.

SEVEN ADDITIONS TO YOUR FAITH

2Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; There is more required to have total victory in this life.

First we must add virtue to package of skills. Life giving force.

ONE VIRTUE:
1. Moral excellence

2. Righteousness
3. Goodness
4. Courage
5. Valor
6. Power

TWO KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowing
2. Familiarity, understanding gained through experience
3. Things learned, perceived, or discovered
4. Natural knowledge
5. Spiritual knowledge

2 Peter 1:6: And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

THREE TEMPERANCE:
1. Moderation
2. Self-restraint
3. Self-control
4. Abstinence
5. Self disciplined

FOUR PATIENCE:
1. Enduring, pain, difficulty, provocation, or annoyance with calmness
2. Tolerance or understanding
3. Perseverance
4. Calmly awaiting an outcome or a result
5. not hasty or impulsive

FIVE GODLINESS:
1. One devoted to God
2. Divinely inspired
3. Devoted, pious, devout, religious

2Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

SIX BROTHERLY KINDNESS:
1. Traits considered typical of brothers
2. Friendly
3. Kind
4. Helpful
5. Like a brother
6. The habit of being kind

SEVEN CHARITY:

1. Unconditional love
2. The God kind of love
3. Kindness motivated by love

2Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If these things be in you in abundance…
1. You will be not barren or unprofitable
2. You will not be unfruitful through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ

2Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Those that lack these qualities…
1. Are blind
2. Have no vision
3. Have forgotten he is delivered from sin’s power

2Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Give your attention to…
1. Securing your position in Christ
2. God has chosen us for abundance
3. If these things be activated in you? Its up to you!
4. You shall never fail

2Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

If these things be in you, you will be assured of an entrance into the kingdom, both on Earth and in Heaven.

There is no place one can look, that we don’t see that, God is a God of abundance.

Abundance in every area of life on Earth is within our grasp! You are Born Again to live life in abundance!

John10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus came that you would have an abundance in all areas of your life.

2Peter 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Notice in this scripture it is not speaking of a future event but the here and now!

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We see in this scripture that the key for success in this life we must first seek God and His kingdom.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Do you believe it?

Colossians 1:10-13 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

These scriptures confirm the teaching that we are to be over-comers in this life.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Do not allow the world determine who you are or what you can have. Live God’s way and prosper in all areas of this present life.

2Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

The promises of God are for you to live the abundant life now!

2Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us (you) all things that pertain unto (your) life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
