TIPPING THE SCALES WITH PRAYER
-----
Deut
30:19 I call heaven and earth
to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death,
blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may
live:
Our life is the some total of the choices we have
made through out our life. If our life is full of failure, sadness, and defeat
it is the result of our incorrect choices. Those people that have success,
happiness, and victory are the result of correct choices.
God designed us to play an active role in our destinies but if we are content
to be passive we fall victim to the whims of the Devil.
I
can choose…
To be in charge of my life or allow God to be in charge of my
life.
To return
evil for evil or return good for evil.
To
be giving or selfish and greedy.
To be sad or happy and content.
To smile or frown.
To worry or trust in God's provision.
To let people, events and circumstances be first in my
life or God.
To let someone be used and destroyed by the Devil or saved by
the influence of the Holy Spirit.
To let things just happen or influence change.
A self defense mechanism we use to hide from the truth is to blame others for
the failures in our lives, it is call the transferal
of blame.
We see this vividly portrayed in little children when they are confronted in a
fault the my say "but
Transfer of blame is common in children as well as adults and it is a form of
denial of the truth.
The first step to overcome any addiction is for the one caught in it to admit
the truth they are an addict.
Ephesians
Can we super-cede another's willful choice in
matters of this life or
Can we influence another's willful choices in this life and
So how can we affect the out come of the choices made on another's life? Shall
we forgive the sins others have committed against us or perpetuate them? We
must first liberate ourselves and others from the curse that is the result of
sin.
If we are to reverse the damage released by
someone empowering and giving life the thoughts originated from the Devil we
must forgive them.
The result of sinful thoughts being acted out is
a curse and to undo a curse we forgive in obedience to God and God changes the
curse into a blessing.
How do we influence change in others? The battlefield for the souls of mankind
is in the mind or intellectual realm were thoughts
enter and we choose to act them out or not.
2Corinthians 4:4 In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them. The Devil is the god of this world and actively blinds
the minds of those who chose not to hear and obey the voice of God.
2Corinthians 11:3 But
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled
The devil gained control of Eve's destiny by
injecting thoughts into her mind
2Corinthians 10:5 Casting
down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth
itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought
to the obedience of Christ;
We all have imaginations that are injected into
our minds by the Devil but what we choose to do with them will determine the
quality of life we live.
Deut 30:19 I call heaven
and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live:
Our minds receive from the devil and from God
suggestions about every choice that occurs in our daily lives.
When
we have a person, event or problem that we want to influence change in, we must
loose the creative power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us to effect and
influence the object we want changed.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that
quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that
I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
When we pray for someone we release God's words
to be heard by the heart of those involved.
Hebrews 4:12 For
the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
If
we say nothing, largely the only influence that is at work is that of the
devil.
1Corinthians
We can TIP THE SCALES in any circumstance
of life by the fervent release of a believer’s prayer.
Revelations 12:11 "And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of
their testimony"
James 5:17 Elias
was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it
might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and
six months.
Have a GOD-day!
