WHAT DO YOU FILL UP ON?

Trudi Bond, SW Washington

True Faith is achieved by having a hunger for God! If our faith is weak it is because we have suppressed our hunger and desires for Him. We do this in much the same way as when we fill our physical bodies with junk food; since a candy bar will satisfy our appetite we probably won’t eat that apple after having the candy.

We can fill our lives up with so many things of this world that our spirit won’t have the chance to become healthy and strong. Like our physical bodies, our spirit needs to be nourished and refreshed daily.

Keeping God in your thoughts will fuel your desire to known Him more and more. In most cases it begins in spending time with Him. If we do this daily we will feel His unconditional love surround us, and that experience is so incredible you will fall in love with Him all over again. Your faith will grow to a new level. With your new strong faith you can achieve things you never dreamed of and the verse in Philippians 43:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” will take on a whole new meaning in your life.

The Bible is here to help you increase your faith and become the overcoming child of God you were meant to be. Sure, God loves you and accepts you as you are – but most of us can’t get ourselves to see how victorious our lives could be if we could just hold on to who we are in Christ, and accept it by faith.

On the surface we see God up in Heaven watching over us, but we put many limits on what He would really do for us. Those limits are what keep us from going to the next level of Faith that He has in store for our life. He doesn’t put limits on us, it’s up to us to break out of our old thinking and accept a new fresh approach to what God is trying to tell us in His Word, the Holy Bible.

The Bible is full of miracles; we read those old truths of yesterday that God performed and don’t always expect that He would actually do any of those things again today. God is the same unchanging God today. Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”  Now that we have hidden that in our hearts, we can be assured that He hasn’t stopped doing anything he used to do. There is no passage that says all those things will stop. So we need to be open. Anything God did in the past, could happen today.

Have a good day!
