Dickson Family Home, Westport, Maine, circa 1918. Edgar and Mary Jane Perkins Dickson lived in this house where they raised four boys: Harry, Bert, Ernest, and Ross. The house was one of many that burned during the island fire in 1918. Capt Edgar, a steamboat pilot was away - Mary Jane was visiting her son Ernest and family at Mt Desert Ferry, ME. The house and furnishings were a total loss.

Ernest H. Dickson married Lola M. Bevan in Castine, Maine, April 1909. They moved to Rockland, Maine where their son Walter L Dickson was born. They later moved to Hancock, Maine, where Ernest also worked as a Marine Engineer with the same steamboat company as his father, Edgar.

After Marrying Ernest H Dickson in Castine, Maine, April 1909, moving to Rockland,and Hancock Maine, they had a daughter, Marion E Dickson. Lola and Ernest owned and operated a general store and gas station...well, Lola did the "operating",while Ernest was "engineering" on the boat.
