Ah, to be 18 again.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I'm a 2nd year kindergarten teacher in west Michigan. No matter what they tell you in college, nothing can prepare you for your career no matter what it is! But I'm glad to be done with school and have been very relucntantly forced to admit that I'm a grown-up now. Dang it.
My older sister is a former kindergarten teacher and just moved to Connecticuit. She is the mother of my adorable one year-old nephew. She says she doesn't know sometimes who's prouder of him: her or me. :-) My younger sister is a senior studying occupational therapy at Western Michigan University.

My best friend, Heather, is twenty-six and recently moved to Oregon with her husband. I really miss her now that she lives so far away, but that's life, I guess. Reality really sucks sometimes. We love to discuss our theroies concerning the Harry Potter Series.
My other best friends from high school are Emily and Kim. Kim and Em and I have lots have a lot of fun together, but see each other much anymore. Kim currently lives in Georgia and Emily in California. My college best friends and I, however, see each other much more often. Katie and I are currently roommates, actually, and my former roommate is currently in medical school at Michigan State University. We get together every month or so and always have a great time.

I love to read and write. I hope one of my stories will get published someday. I LOVE reading the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. They are so awesome!! It doesn't matter how old you are, you'll love these books! The first one is called Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. The series is about an 11 year-old boy who learns that he's a famous wizard. Each book takes place over the span of one year and it's all about Harry's adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You must read these books!!! Check out the publisher's site.

I also like to watch TV and go to the movies. My favorite shows are "Home Improvement" and "Friends." During high school, I worked as a page at the local library. I cried for an hour on my last day there. :-) I loved it there and I miss everyone so much!!! That was my favorite job. In college, I worked as a front desk receptionist in my dorms for two of the three school years in lived there. I did office temp work during those summers and learned that offices are not the place for me - too many politics! My first retail job was at Meijer where I worked the service desk. There's nothing I love more than being yelled at for things that are not my fault. Next was Younkers department store. I'm technically still employed there even though I haven't actually worked there for the last year. :) I spent six months substitute teaching after I graduated college. That was a good job. Now, of course, I've started my career as a teacher. I'm teaching kindergarten now and love it. I'm also remembering how much I enjoy summer vacation. :)
