He was turning around her like a hornet around a honeycomb, dangerous and dark, buzzing and impossible to ignore.
"Give up, we already made your name to the crowd, so get out and like I wrote you.. show yourself and shine..."
Tables that were the nearest to the stage were already makin some noise, to kill the waiting.
At "Darkside" like conventionally people were calling the club, there were different music genres played each night, for people who could have seated to enjoy that on the floor tables or up to the places in the galleries shadowing it, articulated across the walls painted with galaxies and stars that were fluorescent to add some translucid atmosphere to the very gothic and mysterious venue.
Waiters'clothing were latex tracksuits with adherent hoods: they had all a slice of moon painted on their fronts and they were all like aliens walkin around among tables that were polished and smoothed down, but that thanx to a peculiar plastic texture were givin the illusion to be holed and craqueled like pieces of moon with craters.
Melania was keepin herself amazed at the bravery of the venue's ambient style, as they reminded her of Northern European sights and flavours:
"Your bro's mad in realizing your ideas... the space waiters! It's like being at McQueen's catwalks..."and she jumped down from the table she was sitting over, makin the hand checking again how the surface was regular indeed, "..or being into one of your videoclips!"she added.
While she was disappearing again behind the curtain, Jacob took side near to a young man dressed in grey lookin quite like him, and pointing out to the curtain's waves after her passage he said:
"What a great bootie don't you think?"
"Jac...oh my! That's your girlfriend!"
But he didn't consider those words disrespecteful towards her. He thought that was just the average note every man would have composed in their minds once looked at her from behind.
Generally nights at Darkside were ignited up by jam sessions of the band that was there to support solo artists' performances: simple music that was of the same genre of what would have followed as regular acts. But sometimes, especially on the Fridays, a girl was joining the instrumental jams, with her voice to offer to the crowd. And many were coming earlier on Fridays, hoping she would have sung some.
"I'm sorry people, but tonight I can't..."
But at the screams and reactions of extreme sadness and disappointment from the crowd at her words, she made her choice. After all the guys in the band would have felt badly too if she would have left the stage without not even a single song done...
She got energy from others' confidence, like all other times, and so she sang, and she did more than just once.
She did "Piccola Stella Senza Cielo" (Little Star Without Sky), "Certe Notti" (Certain Nights) and "Hai Un Momento Dio?" (Do you have a Minute, God?) of Ligabue, "One" of U2, "74/75" from The Connels, "Diamante" (Diamond)of Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari, a rocking version of Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and a ballad version of "Some Might Say": Noel would have certainly appreciated the soul and melancholic vest she was using to interpretate the song.
