I respond to several names: Rae, Rachael, Johannah... I will turn around when any name is said in that tone of voice that means someone wants your attention. This makes me unhappy. My name is You. while I know that can lead to some confusion, I hope you will have enough respect for my identity to avoid all this Johannah business. Everyone needs a label, and it is mine. Thank you for your cooperation. I am a surviver and that means something very different than the connotations that have been attached to it.
