"He that believes and is baptized, shall be saved"
The next step to take after giving your heart to Jesus
is to be baptized for the remission of your sins. Christ himself made
Baptism the Sacrament of rebirth and renewal of the Spirit.
At the same time that original sin is taken away from the soul,
it is filled with the grace of God~sanctifying grace~
"Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"
John 3:5
This is a picture taken by a friend on a trip to the Holy Land.
It is a section of the Jordan River where John the Baptist
performed baptisms, and also where he baptized Jesus.
Matthew 3:13-17
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
But John tried to deter him, saying,"I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
Jesus replied,"Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness."
Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.
At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said,
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
