- Assemblee=to assemble
- Bourre=to stuff or to fill
- Brise=broken
- Cloche=bell
- Couper [koo-PAY]=to cut
- Demi=half
- Developpe=to develope or expand
- Echappe=escapping
- Fondu=to fade-in or fade-out
- Fouette=to whip
- Glissade=to glide
- Glisser [glee-SAY]=to slip or slide
- Jete=to throw out
- Plie=bend
- Pointe=at the peak of
- Pas de chat=jump of the cat
- Saute=jump
- Tendu=stretched
