The town of Yarmouth was originally called Westcustogo, dirived
from the Indian name of the River running through Yarmouth, The
Royal River. The Westcustogo Inn was established in 1920 and was
known throughout the East for its shore dinners and homestyle cooking.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Eleanor and their dog Fala all
visited the Westcusogo Inn. As did Fred Allen and Portland Hoffa,
Joe Louis, Gene Tunney, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and Mary Pickford,
Myrna Loy, Douglas Fairbanks, Bette Davis and Gary Merrill.
