Smiths Empire Clock

Every clock has a story behind it, and this one has an especially funny and interesting one.

I got this clock for very cheap, but when it got here, it was damaged, so I had to apply for the insurance refund. For the $100 of insurance I had on the clock, I actually made about $60 by buying it!

There wasn't much broken on the clock, but it needed a bunch of adjustments. It's supposed to chime on 3 rods, but one broke off, and I still have not replaced it yet.

The clock is a 1920's art deco style. It's an 8-day English clock made by the Smith's Empire Clock company. The movement features 'rack and snail' and barrel mainsprings. The chime is 'bim-bam' style and rings on the hour and half-hour.

Not too many photos of this clock. It's a pretty basic design.
