As mentioned, what I love most about South Carolina is its coast, with many great beaches and warm ocean water in the summertime...

Growing up,
the only thing I liked better
than an family vacation
to
West Virginia was a trip to the beach, usually meaning
Myrtle Beach, Surfside,
or Garden City

         Calabash (N.C.)
Tiny fishing village billed as "Seafood Capital of the World"
due to concentration of seafood restaurants. Home of "Calabash
style" seafood (mainly fried). Visitors to beaches from
Myrtle to Wilmington find their way to Calabash causing
overflow crowds just about any summer night. About 20 miles
north of Myrtle Beach, just across the NC state line.
