In 1987 I bought this '83 BMW 320i from my NCR buddy George Durden (who actually took this photo when he owned the car). I had the Fiero during this time, yet the 320i (even though a year older than the Fiero) was more reliable, and for this reason became my car of choice for traveling, road trips, etc...

If
there was a drawback to the BMW, it was very expensive to maintain... A brake job at the dealer was $500 (and this was the 1980s). Putting a new clutch in it was close to $1000. Property tax was non-trivial as well.

 


 


When I eventually sold it, I sold it to an assistant basketball coach at South Carolina State University.
