I met some insensitive people today,
They did not understand that my baby had passed away.
That my baby had four legs, this is true,
But my baby was every bit a person
Just like me or you.
They could not comprehend the joy my baby gave,
Or the sorrow i felt when my baby passed away.
They only saw my tears, as i thought of the precious
years
They rebuffed my feelings with insults and jeers.
It hurt my soul to see such people laugh or scold,
I thought to myself, what happens when THEY get old?
Will they be mourned in the hour of their passing,
Do they really understand love that is everlasting?
I pity these people who show so little concern,
What a valuable lesson they could have learned.
To have someone who loves them for who they are,
And pass no judgements,living Life's journey, not
matter how far.
I look into my baby's eyes and see love earned,
And total devotion a hundrefold returned.
Rest easy my baby, it won't be long,
'Til we're both together and singing a heavenly song.
