Pencils In My Hair & Cartwheels In The Hallway

So I started another story...

Yes, I started another story. I decided I wanted to announce it on my site, but there was no connection to The Memory Book... ah ha, that's
when I got my ultra-brilliant idea. Of course it
has to do with The Memory Book! It's all about
memories! I actually would like to start The Memory Book Story Collection; we'll see. So here it is, Pencils In My Hair &
Cartwheels In The Hallway
.

The Very Rough Premise:

I am marrying a rich fellow (there’s a reason for that, lol). It’s 2013 and we’re all 26-ish. We haven’t seen each other since graduation (I am the first marriage because I’d like us not have seen each other for years and if there was a previous marriage we’d have seen each other… I don’t know… I might throw in an elopement and/or a spur-of-the-moment, Bohemian-type wedding). Well everyone comes in for the week-long event and it’s flashbacks and reminiscing. Everyone h as a problem/”subplot” and their own problem/”subplot” for the flashbacks... It’s reunions and dealing with ghosts and goodbyes... etc....

The Dedication:

I dedicate this book to all of the wonderful friends I have whom I hope to laugh and reminisce with at my wedding.

To Michael, who I will always be able to laugh with and run to; to Stephanie, who I will always be able to plot and plan with; to Matt, who will always support The Memory Book (and aim for second place!) and make me laugh at myself; to Christina, who will always be there to listen and talk; to Sarah, who will always be there to laugh, pass notes and give me hope; to Jenni, who will always be there to act silly with me and who has given me some great years; to Caity, who will always listen to my ramblings; to Cara, who will always be quietly blunt with me and will hopefully always be the alto sitting next to me; to Chris, who I will always put up with, but who will always make me laugh; to Joe, who will always be comfortingly weird and witty; to Alison, who is always there to laugh about people with; to Jon who will always be a genius; to Terrance, who will always listen to my problems and share his with me; to David, who will always give me hysterical comfort and tease me endlessly; to Zach Olson, who will always be something to me no matter what; to Zach Latham who will always come up with crazy quotes and hysterical antics; to Jacey, who will always be my rock; and to Mrs. Roll, who will always listen to me and who has taught me the value of living life -- by not just taking spoonfuls, but taking shovelfuls.

This book is dedicated to everyone in my Memory Book, and everyone in my heart. To everyone who has taught me love, given me memories and laughed with me. I hope to laugh with you and love you forever.

Care to know the origin of the title?
Yes, it was May 17, 2002, and we were at a Film Fest with Mrs. Roll. We were "on break" and we were doing cartwheels and taking pictures and all of that. Stephanie had a pencil in her hair and I shot a photo of her doing a cartwheel in the hallway. I said, "That would be a great title for a story!" Eight months later, I found myself searching for a title -- and it came to me.

I always knew I would use it someday.
